Hello All!
I've just purchase a 1988 928 5 speed. Been browsing this forum just a little - hoping to learn a little more about my vehicle. Are there any other female owners on the sight - I did notice Nicole - I'll make the assumption there - just curious. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Yellow? Hope you are enjoying it. There are other female owners who post here, as well as Nicole, including Jessa and Beth. Hopefully they will chime in.

You will learn a LOT about your car by perusing posts here. Most of the issues you might encounter during ownership have been documented here at one time or another.

Congratulations and welcome to arguably the best resousce you could hope to find for a specific car, of any make. I'm in my tenth month of ownership and Rennlist has basically become my home page online. I learn something everyday, some of it I wish i hadn't(Off Topic Forum), haha, uhh, that was a joke.
Moving on, looking through the archives will answer many of the questions you'll have as a new owner. Enjoy!

Hello Helly:

Congratulationis to your purchase, and welcome to the rennlist 928 community! There are quite a few females here - just recently we had a poll here (you might want to search the archives for it).

I have owned three 928s since February of 1997 - the first one was also an '88. These cars are very addictive, and you end up not wanting to be without one. Since I only drive mine occasionally, I apreciate it even more.

Thanks to the wonderful people on this board and locally, I have learned a lot about the car and how to maintain it. I've even done repairs that I never thought I could do, thanks to the help of my fellow owners!

Where are you located? There might be a local group of 928 owners who help each other, do fun drives or socials, or can recommend good mechanics etc. It's good to be connected...

Hope to see you here often. Enjoy the beast, and don't hesitate to ask us anything that's on your mind!

PS: In order to access the off-topic forum. you need to be a Rennlist member, who has paid the yearly dues. You will find that you save more money from this forum than the membership costs, and you help the owners in keeping this site running.

Welcome aboard newbie. First off we need pics. Second get yourself a radar detector for those oh so tempting moments to drop the pedal a bit. Ahem, Right Nicole.... Just kidding. Really there are a lot of super people on here. Enjoy the car. It is what it's all about.

Welcome aboard Helly
(Hmm, how about that. 'Aboard' is appropriate don't you think?)
It's a good idea to read the 'Before your first post' item near the top the top of the 928 forum front page.
I think Joe means pics of the CAR but it's also useful to include your (approximate) location and a few other car details are essential if you're asking for technical help. A lot of people include it in their sign-off. Like this

Colin. 89GT Slate grey/ Black leather. Bi-turbo, nitrous and water injection. (not really)

Welcome, Helly!

This is a great bunch of folks and a great resource. One thing that I never hear anyone complain about is "too many shark photos" so knock yourself out.... let's see your shark.

How many female owners? I don't know, but if you ask my wife, she owns my car, so whatever the total, add 1.

I'm new, too, and I can tell you that the people here are some of the most helpful I've met in a long time. Anything you need, just ask. People here will bend over backward for you in an instant.

Hey, my wife's been saying that since the day I bought the car!

I'm pretty sure I'm the luckiest guy on Rennlist.

Hello Helly:

Post some photos of your yellow machine. And take Joe's advice and buy a V1 so you won't end up like me.....in jail all the time. (*@#$*@!! CHPs don't have any sense of humor!) And the rennlisters won't bail you out once you're in. They just go off to Southern California to have fun with their sharks while you rot in jail. Especially Nicole who likes to race Smokeys on Hwy 101. Oops, visiting hours are over.
