Twin Turbo Kit Update
I am going in on getting the manifolds jigs made for the 4.5/4.7 liter US Twin Turbo manifolds. In addition I am going to get a few other parts set up with jigs for reproduction. I have a few parts I want to redesign for space constraint and fit and finish reasons. It is all coming together nicely!
I have given some thought to selling the piece parts, clearly the hardest items are the manifolds and wastegate integration pipes. These are carefully designed to fit within the 928's stock chassis and sneak by the steering shaft. Space management would be an understatement. A lot of time on the bench motor and under the car to arrive at these units. It would be crazy for me not to reproduce them at this point.
More news to come in the near future...

Cool.. what would be the difference if installing on a euro 4.5/4.7l block? i thought the only differences were internal (comp. ratio) and in the CIS (larger diameter meter..)

Well, these would fit on the Euro cars, but the issue is with the CR...it is too high for a successful installation...then there is that nasty CIS system. My sneaky Pete pipes won't fit with the CIS.
944, now that is interesting stuff...it just might fit, there is more room in the 944s engine bay. Everybody says you can't turbo a non-turbo 944 and do a good job of it. That is BS, it can be done and done well. The issue as always is the cost, nobody wants to spend the coin.

John,
Will you be selling the kits when completed ? I have a 4.7L 1984 928S. I could be one of the Test Models for you since I live close in Indianapolis.
Thanks,
Ron

Yes, the plan all along was to offer a full system. Pull your engine and send me the shortblock and I'll get you hooked up to crank down hard on the boost screw...
There are some pictures floating around on here of the whole setup, you can take a look at the whole setup.

How much of a change would it be on the manifold to make it work on an S4 head? I think you have less space between the fenders and the head, but the manifold design should just need different flanges right?

I'm looking into this, but it is hard to do without a car right now. The manifolds would be different, but of similar design. I have it mapped out in my head, but that nasty intake might have to go to pull it off correctly. I came up with three or 4 methods of how it could be done, but not one is perfect...but that is what makes this an accomplishment, fitting all the stuff in there.
I think you just need to by the Goldmember next month when she hits the pavement. It will be the perfect sleeper car!

Uh....it would probably be more unless I could get some castings done for the manifolds. I won't know what the S4 stuff will look like until I make a prototype done and (as I promised my wife) the Goldmember must be sold before I start another project. I'll log some miles on it before I sell.
Actually, I might be able to be more competitive with the 32 valve setup than it might initially appear, but until I get one to play with I won't know.
I am close to having some hard numbers on the 16 valve setup...it is a balancing act and hard to sell against others who offer less expensive options right now.

I suppose
they will be hounding me before long. Before then though, the little '79
will receive a power infusion in the giuse of a nice turbo. 400hp is not
out of the question!

Hate to be a joy killer here but, I want to say that 928 Forum may have published the article on the twin-turbo done by a guy here in Portland, Oregon about 13 years ago and that this has already been done on a 1988 S4. What is the follow up on the the possible kits from that car? I also thought it was generally summed up that the twin turbo concept was far too expensive for the horsepower and that super-charging is still the better way to go?
Heinrich, you want to chime in here with what we all learned that day?
