Strosek For Sale
This car came up on an earlier thread during discussion about Strosek's. Although the price may not be justified, does anyone have an idea if there is a market for these conversions?

At current exchange rate $15,800 US dollars ...... it would have to be a Euro it is 16 valve it would not be 350HP but 310 . It COULD be very hard to bring into the US and nearly impossible to register in California.

I'm not really that qualified to comment on condition to any great degree having only been a 928 owner since June and my car is in premium condition. Although I've read lots of anecdotes here in this forum, I haven't had to diagnose many serious problems so my instincts are not very accute. Here are my impressions:
(a) Car was very dirty inside with some wear on he green/grey leather interior (has leather dash as well)
(b) Engine bay was oily and otherwise dirty.
(c) It started and ran well but did not have the performance of my 5 spd. It is an automatic. Admittedly, I only drove it for a few city blocks and followed a member of the local law enforcement for part of that route.
(c) Suspension is very tight and low as it is specific to the Strosek conversion package. Again, I didn't drive it at highway speeds. Exhaust is also Strosek and is very loud.
(d) I recall there was a small crack somewhere on the body. A fender well I believe.
(e) Owner has had recent work done to the engine including the timing belt.
(f) Owner stated he imported it from Switzerland a few months ago.
(g) Car does not have Strosek rear hatch ( a positive in my opinion) and does not have the gull wing doors which came on many of them.
(h) I contacted Strosek directly and enquired about the conversion. They do not believe they did this car as they have no record of the serial number. They indicated that they sold a few body kits to external conversion shops. This car does have more than just the body kit however. It has very nice "work" wheels and Strosek branded dual exhaust.
(i) I think mileage showed about 40,000 kms but the owner speculated it was likely higher given the condition. Condition may be largely cosmetic issues.
(j) Owner was a nice guy and certainly didn't seem to be trying to hide anything. He had been smitten by the styling of the car but admitted he knew little about 928s otherwise.

"f) Owner stated he imported it from Switzerland a few months ago." ?????
This car was for sale in Calgary a few months ago. The asking price at that time was $ 16,600. I was tempted to go look at it but my wife knew if i liked it a deal would have been made. With typically 5 months to drive them another 928 is not in the cards...and my present is a 5 sp.
I do like the body kit and the euro engine had the appeal.
