Thank you, Gentlemen.

I would guess that XT7 refers to the cassettes box, without leather and XR8 refers to the same part covered with leather.
Of course, we need an official confirmation.

Samuel,

I wanted to bump this thread and have you look at post 163 above and get your comments on "Dual Scale" speedometers.

How many countries have those?.

Thanks!

Samuel,

This is interesting. My car is the fourth on your list of "Exhibition" cars (WP0AA2924RS820102) and is the only car to have an additional code of "M553 - Version for USA, Canada"

Unique to it is at least a speedometer that includes both Miles and Kilometers.

So far, I have found the equipment code 020 (Speedometer with 2 scales KPH/MPH) only on cars for the England (C16) or Hong-Kong (C15), all of them RHD.
But to my knowledge, all the Canadian cars have also a dual scale Speedometer. Is it correct?

No, the other Canadian cars are single KPH scale only.

See post 163 above for photos of the other single scale Canadian speedometers. My M553 optioned car is the only dual USA -Canada - 2 scale car I have seen.

Here is the option list from Rob, it does not include 020 and I am wondering if the 2 scale speedometer was included with M553?

RE: The M553 cars, there are 394 of them. Two are German market, 363 are 49 state US market, and 29 are Canadian market. They're all GTSs, early 93/late 93/94/95. No rhyme or reason with regard to transmission type, other options listed, etc. that I can see.

Edited to change M533 to M553....

Rob, The options in question are: I740 (Exhibition) and M553 (Version for USA - Canada), not M533.

Thanks again for all you do!

D'oh, I meant M553 and did the synopsis on cars with the M553 option (Version for USA, Canada), but accidentally typed M 533 (alarm...). The data is correct for M553. I'll edit the post above to correct the typo.

UK definitely has dual scale as standard on all model years (legal requirement - for driving in Europe). Other RHD countries like Australia / Japan are Kph only.

I suspect the dual-scale on US/Canada cars is either due to Tourist Delivery, or special order for people who cross the border to canada regularly? (just a theory)

Interesting to observe - the XR8 exclusive option is specifically listed that it cannot be ordered with the Berlin IQR88 radio, but yet a few lines down on the equipment list the same car was spec'd with that very radio model. What radio is present in the car photo?

AFAIK D0x codes were some kind of option packages which were in use in early eighties. Something like electric seats, some style radio and sport shocks or some similar combination which has several options grouped together.

Looking through this thread I did not see anywhere where code 046 had been determined. Shows on my '89GT tag. I also saw that it showed on someone else's '89GT tag. On Pelican Parts a guy said he solved the 046 code and it meant "Belt line Leather". Not sure if this is correct or what it really means. Just curious. This is the only code for my car I don't have defined. Anybody know what this is?
