Copper plugs here. Spent a day with my 928 and my neighbors 84 playing with spark plugs. His had new platinum, I had a set of silver and copper. We played around with both cars - copper was the clear winner. His car actually had a very slight miss on the upper end with the platinum plugs.

OEM wires & connectors, Bosch copper per spec. Ditched the PO plugs made in India, replaced with plugs made in Germany.

always run the WR7DCs with the default bosch gap. might be moving to WR6, or denso iridium. Currently running stock spark plugs, but might give the nology wires a try. has anyone else tried the nology wires?

I tried a set of Denso Iridium. There was no measurable increase in performance, and the car displayed a more nervous nature at idle. I put back the Bosch platinum for the greater smoothness they provide. I would have to say that the iridium plugs are severely over-priced.

I just bought plugs today for my '84S. Parts book at the store said the Bosch silver was OE. Did I buy the wrong plugs?

Take a look at what the guys are running who are making 400-550+ HP, I think you will find they use stock wires and plugs. Cant improve much on that!

Sure you can. The stock plug wires are fine, but Magnecor passes more juice and are certainly better insulated from noise and heat effects. Motorcraft Racing makes some very nice plugs in a ton of heat ranges. NGK are the best, however.

Good luck

Accell universal wires and single electrode bosch platnium. around 50$ at auto zone.... No way in hell im spending 300$ for plug wires. Yes my car runs just fine with them it doesnt missfire, or anything like that.

@Intrinsicate and Tony,

Kenne Bell sells twin-screw kits for American cars. Their kit for the cobra can make anywhere from 400-600+rwhp. Kenne Bell also claims that the Denso Iridium plugs are THE BEST plugs they have ever tried. This is what i'm basing my comments on.

I doubt many people have tried denso iridium with nology wires on a 928, so I figured I might as well try it out.... aren't they only like an extra $25 or 30?

Firebraid 8mm wires that come premade with stock Beru connectors and I use copper plugs. Guy at the dyno who works with a lot of superchargers nitros and other boost applications suggested NGK v-power plugs. Might have to give those a try.

ngk and cadillac northstar wires on the racecar. magnecors had too much resistance for the tec3r. northstars were perfect and fit AND only cost $79 for the set.
