Actually, the forged pistons expand more than the earlier cast units....just a metallurgical fact.
Nice car. I love the headlights on that model....I mean the car....or do I?
Take care.

Chris, congrats and welcome to the GTS club. If you make it to Sharktoberfest early enough, you can park it next to mine Seriously, looks as though there will be several GTS's at this event, I know of 6 that said they would attend, but we'll see. It would be nice to get a bunch in one spot at 928 Int'l, but Sunday at the museum, ALL of the cars will be sectioned off by generation, so all GTS's will be parked in one spot.
If your car is as sweet as you say, you may just get your car picked to be displayed IN the Petersen Automotive Museum on Sunday. There will be private judging on Saturday to see which of the generations best representatives will be on display. Good Luck!

3. The Peterson museum will be really fun... I am looking forward to the whole weekend.

Sweanders is correct... in and out.
How does it sound... uhm.. I hear it sounds sweet...
I am waiting on the face plate for the radio and apparently the instructions.
The car came with the Alpine Nav system... I think it plays DVD's not sure.
XM satelite radio is hooked up and the CD changer was replaced with a CD/DVD changer, so I am busy burning DVD in prep for the face plate.

Chris,
The car is awsome. I am humbled by it's presence. I can't wait to get started.
BC,
It sounds like you have some direct experience with a GTS that has had smashed ringlands from a failed SC installation. Please give a full account of this experience.
BTW I can think of a few SC systems on cars that have higher than 10.4:1CR. For example the Lingenfelter system for the Z06 (10.5:1) uses a Magnuson/Eaton MP112 at 5.5 PSI and NO intercooler.

then why was *someone* unable to get it working, and end up blowing off the ring lands?

I don't want to be taken the wrong way and get and flames. But, they aren't making any more GTS engines. My unsolicited advice is, if you want to supercharge your car, buy yourself an S4 engine, supercharge that and save the GTS engine for the next owner.

I'm not saying it can't or shouldn't be done.
I was referring to the whole Projekt928 situation, with the black and white GTS's.
It may have been other issues, but both cars took a long time to complete,
and they both had problems of some kind. Excessive blowby, engine
block cracks, piston issues, cylinders out of round, oil leaks, etc.
They may have all been flukes, or problems unrelated to the superchargers.
It may have all been bad luck, or poor installation techniques, or whatever...
I was just taking the route of assuming that *maybe* the installer
knew what he was doing, and the GTS engines were just a different
beast, and he ran into unforseen problems.
It seems like if your systems are running well on other cars,
then with proper intercooling, lower boost, and keeping
a close eye on the air-fuel guage, things should work out fine.
It just seemed like Projekt928 had quite a few problems with those two GTS's.
I was just wondering if the stroker crank, the compression, oil use, and other differences,
made a big difference in how a supercharger runs. If a GTS burns a lot more oil, does
that mean the car burns that oil? And if so, would that cause compression issues in
the burning of the fuel? Or would blowby problems on the GTS, be exacerbated
under boost?
