V:

Sorry to hear you're getting out of the 928 game, if only temporarily. I've enjoyed your posts.

Any chance your circumstance will change in the near future to allow you the space to store the car and give you the time you need to do the work at comfortable pace?

I know that in my own case, getting a different 928 is less attractive with each repair I make to my current one. That may sound odd, but it's due to the fact that I'm investing more and more time to make the car right. By springtime, I'll have a 928 with new tires, new transmission, rebuilt heads, etc., etc., etc. Getting a newer 928 means I'll have to start over again making everything just right, even if it appears to be in good shape (just like mine did).

Best of luck to you,

Dave

Viribus - Hope you can find a way to keep it, but sometimes you have to punt and cut your losses. Any photos?

I'm new here and have been reading all the tales of woe so I thought you may like to hear my story. !st 928 was a 1978 purchased in 1977 for 32,327.14 and sold 5 years later for 27,500. Only warranty work. 2nd was a 1983s for 45,051.84 and sold in 1987 for 31,500. Only warranty repairs. Current 1988 cost 79,619.20 and has left me stranded only once with fuel pump problem. I have also replaced water pump and t chain twice. Over 26 years in a 928 as a daily driver and have logged over 400,000 miles. Is this a trouble free record?

I agree the faster they go in the crusher. The higher parts prices go, the less sharks swimming around. They should be parted out as a last resort because its about shot. Atleast keep parts in cirrculation

Where do you store 4 sharks? In AZ you don't get alot of property for the dollar. I mean its OK to keep ricers out in the heat of 110, but not a nice shark.

Well, Viribus, even if your car couldn't get all the benefit of this board, you at least helped the rest of us to. I know you've stepped up with good info plenty of times. Hope to see you back eventually!
