Default MIght Be Needing EFI spider.

I may be needing the spider, Fuel rails, TB, etc, from an 80-85 USA model. My 78 may get a refreshed engine, and I won't be going back to CIS. I think it would just be too simple to do an SDS install.
Thanks,
Brendan

Uh?

Are you going to L-jet, or are you going to try to do a aftermarket system?

If L-jet, why? Other than for emissions reasons, it's no better than K-jet.

L-jet may be better for forced induction, as it has at least a rudimentary closed-loop mixture control...

www.sdsefi.com would be easier with the L-jet intake because of the fuel injector places on the spider, and the TB, etc.

Although I do have an L-jet computer... Nah.

Its kind of a simple way of geting out of the CIS which I thought was a good idea.

Brendan,
I have a spider still in the box that I got recently. It's your's free of charge. Give me your address and i'll send it out this week. I would like to see the implementation of this system. I have looked at the SDS system and was thinking of it yesterday when my car wouldn't start due to no ground signal to injectors......I say go for it!
HTH,
Andy K

The injectors have a few ground points. I had this happen repeatedly on the 81 auto that I had. This is why I got the CIS, but it just chuggs too much gas..and well, it was a 2k experiment, well, 3k with shipping (the car was in CT, but had 5k of work done in the last 4 years).

Some of the groun points are somewhat misleading. There are some down under the intake tubes on the top of the cam housings. VEry small bolt - maybe an 8 or 10? These can SEEM tight, but when the engine warms up, the injectors will stop firing because the miniscule distance between the bolt and the wire loop will widen a bit. Poof - no ground. I was on the side of hwy8 at 7:45 for an appointment at 8:15 30 miles away one morning, and I just YANKED on that bolt with a huge racthet wrench and never had an issue again. I think I did actualy twist that bolt I pushed so hard, but it stuck. HTH -

Oh - and ABSOLUTLEY - I will take that spyder. I will PM you with my address. Thanks Andy. YOu may even get it back one day - just like your wheels Now all I need is the TB. Damn, wish I didn't have that away with the exhaust from the 81.
