Talking top speed??

Just took my 88 s4 on the highway and got her up to 145, then got scared, these things really are no joke. There is no doubt that this car had A LOT more in it, it laughed at 145. This is the fastest I,ve ever been on land and this car handled it better than any other car i would have wanted to be in at its age! What is the fastest you have had your 928??

At those piddling speeds, you will both bow down in homage to Master Bill Ball who recently recorded an official time trap speed of 165.2 mph - and I think he noted in his post that this was not the fastest recorded: Do a search ...

On the German higway I did 265 km/h. That is 164,66 mile/h. Still had some throttle left, but it started raining and boy, do those turns come up fast at those speeds!

Here in Australia I did 240 km/h in 4th in my 1981 928S Euro. I had the 5th to go.
On my 1988 S4 I did 270 km/h Euro (Auto while my nephew was screaming his hart out LOL).
Cheers,

If you're gonna go 120mph you might as well go 170mph - you're going to jail either way! (If they can catch you!)

Sounds like it could be a little kinked. Any latex or leather involved here?

Nope. Not necessarily going to jail.

142 going into turn 1 at Brainerd Intl. Raceway. Still pulling hard!

154 with foot on the floor & speedo still inching higher...really gets your attention with things happening around you so fast. Steering wheel inputs get immediate reaction!

Not me or my car, but I still laugh that a fellow Rennlister decided this was a good time to take a picture of his car...

My 89 S4 about 154, wasn't using the digital.

My 91 GT 157, was still climbing but didn't look down before lifting because of oncoming traffic

My 90 GT between 157 & 158 and was able to hold it there for a mile or two before having to lift.
