It's worth repeating...

Gotta keep the traditional headlamps. One of the best parts or the 928 styling.

I like the back quarter alot! The wheel flares almost seem too much from the side view, a tire edging out next to the fender is a better look IMHO. Front could use more of the classic 928 look but updated without boxter headlamps. Bottom line is I LOVE YOUR IDEA'S AND HARD WORK!

I will say I hate turbo twists, and based on the number of them I see for sale on ebay, I may not be alone. pick a better wheel...........just my recommendation.

Jason,

Thanks so much for your kind words, the back actually does not look flared much when you look at the actual car, the photo angle was a bit too angled, the rear looks wide and powerful from the back and the split new wing really looks good and helps her keep her backside down on the tar.

Thanks again, more than a matter of personal taste I had to make a quick decision on the wheels and being in South Africa, I had not much choice without importing some from the USA.

The rims will not be standard, but will be up to the client to choose what he, or she likes.

This project costs a small fortune to accomplish and I have to stick to my wheels and use my finances for other last minute things that always seem to crop up - If you know someone who wants to invest in Makotec, I am willing to negotiate so we can launch a better produce and keep up with the demand.

The tail lights are GT2, and I don't just show my backside to anyone that asks

Although I do value your opinion, I should not even have shown you as much as I have, the car is only to be unveiled in October - thanks for your patience, it gives you something to look forward to

Hard to tell from the pics but I don't think I like the lights. They just seem too big. I'm very fond of my pop-ups but I'd have to agree you can't justify them on a modern car. Love the wide rear end and side skirt. Visually I think the positioning of the rear wing will be ultra-critical and a twin wing could be OTT. Losing the sharky look of the lower nose is disappointing. What's going to be under the bonnet? HTH

Actually I hate to critique this. It's a terrific job and I'm coming to see it. Where & when?

Maybe the pics don't do it justice, but the front end looks like... I dunno, a Renault? The front end looks very heavy and oversize. Maybe if the lights were mounted 3"-4" lower it wouldn't destroy the front lines of the car so much. I think the rear treatment looks interesting though.

I like the rear look but think the front wheel arch , clearance to the wheel and the extra bulk of the fender needed to flair in the boxster lights is very awkward and heavy looking . And as has been stated now it looks much like a Boxster from the front and that is not a good thing in my opinion . The comment about the Bi-Plane wing ...........most know how I feel about big wings Are you buying Bondo body filler in 55 gallon drums ? I do respect the amount of work done to get the car to this point ....huge effort .

Thanks for your input, This is why I have asked all my friends at Rennlist to advise me before I continue. I can assure you that the rear wing will be the show stopper, you have to see it to understand - I would love to give you a pic but I cannot.

Under the bonnet is still "unavailable for comment" but the models will have the 928 motorsport supercharger or other options we are lining up like gas flowed heads, freeflow stainless performance pipes, racing cam, custom manifold.

We will be displaying at the Car Magazine stand at the Auto Africa International Motor show mid october this year at NASREC.

I would love to see you there - please ask for me, I have a gift for you for you(to compensate the long trip from CT).

I really admire what your doing. From what negatives I see so far are: Lights are the hallmark of the 928. What you have now is nothing really different than a driveby at a Porsche Dealership. The front end as well as the front fenders do not look sleek ,to bulbous. Looking at the front view pic. of the car I think the front of the rear fender comes down to low and seems a little square. It should be a little higher and have more of a radius. The side view shot looks great except for that front of the rear fender which from that angle also looks to low and to square.Would be great to see more photos. Sorry for criticizing, I couldn't even come close to what you've accomplished. Mike

Gav,

I like the concept, but find (at least from those photos) the front fender rather bulbous/heavy looking.

I remember reading in one of the Porsche magazines, about someone who had created a Boxster with 550 styling, involving the creation of new front fenders with Mercedes head lights.

Wondering what those 996 lights would look like on the front of a 968. hmm

I can't picture any sort of twin wing that would look good, but I'd like to see it.

I agree with the others....pop-up headlights are the 928's trademark. Keeping them in your new design seems like it would make the conversion cheaper and easier. How did you come to the conclusion that the conversion to 996 lights was a better idea?

Either way, I applaud your efforts. Hopefully your kit will be more reasonably price than the products offered by Jacquemond. I suspect they sell very few pieces due to the extremely high prices.
