Hi there, Remember a while back I was asking what you thought of a new look for the 928?
Well this is a really early sneak preview shot of our new body at around 70% completion - rear is 200mm wider than standard.
Please let me know your views as this is the first time I have lat anyone see this picture and we launch the car in October this year.
All input is valued - even if you hate it - tell me what you hate, this is very important and you may be the reason I change some aspects, please note the side vents and mirrors are not on as well as the rear wing and several other goodies. I know it's a bit different to what youre used to, so take your time looking at it.

I do have loads more images but please remember this is still a preview prior to launch, I simply cannot post more images until we launch.
As far as the kit goes - there is an outer body kit and interior upgrade kit, unfortunately pricing and any other info is not yet available until we launch her.

Don't like the 996/Boxster stye Headlight arrangement. The 928 pop ups with that body style would be better IMHO otherwise what would differentiate it on the road from the other Porsches with the same front styling.

Shane,
Yes I did consider it I even designed it like that from the start, but it developed as we continued, I feel after a long think that I prefer the 996 lights, although I am making a kit like you described
Here is a pic of the work so far.

It looks like you have put allot of work into it. But I have a few comments.
First: It looks like a Boxtser from the front. That's okay, but Boxsters are not that special anymore. They are very common(at least in the US), and are worth less than most late S4 and early GTS's. This is not a look that most 928 owners would want(I think?).
Second: Why not try and use the new 997's headlights. They seem like they would work better and look more natural with the 928's body. Plus, it's the new "must have" look and has proper Porsche looks.
Are you planning on making kits or is was this just for yourself??
Here is a link to a guy that just adapted the 996 bumper to the 928.

I have to agree with Shane. The lights are a 928 trade mark so to speak. If you want to do the 928 justice you gotta put the lights.................. or atleast something that looks like them other than that I really think you did a great job!

Weissach,
Thanks, I agree about the lights - They are very expensive but perhaps a future version will have them. I am running this as a business, so either kits or conversions will be available from our agents in the US, we will prefer to do the conversion for you.
Thanks for your valuable input and the links supplied.

I bet you will get resistance with regard to the 996/boxter headlights.......I know the 996 guys resented the fact that they had to share major identifying components with the boxter.
The more "bolt on" your updates are, the better they will sell, for obvious reasons. Therein lies the marketing risk, many "bolt on" exterior parts look like cheap junk.
For upgrades to my car, I echo another lister's comments. I go for functionality over form. In fact I look for functionality that is the least invasive to form. And I have blown a lotta cash on upgrades to Gretch.
Good luck with your enterprise.

Thanks Gretch,
I think the covers on your signature are the best I have seen so far. Thanks for the input here is a look at the tail section - before the twin wing was installed.
Comments?

Sweanders,
Thanks for being honest. I cannot say I agree with you, but I do value your honesty - Remember the car is not complete yet and you may still change your mind.
