The green interior probably has some interesting story to it, but 1980 is never coming back.

I actually like that crazy color:

Doesn't look like it's going to have an 'S' engine, unfortunately...
...

What's that cover behind the license plate?

I was considering making something similar to cover the holes left by removing the bumperettes.

I'd be interested to see the "grey title from Europe"...

Has anybody e-mailed to find out WTF that's supposed to mean?

I also like it. It's always cool to find weird color combos on 928's.

Looks like normal Euro model rear bumper to me. You US guys have some twisted ideas how bumbers should look thanks to DOT and EPA.

Grey in auction text likely means grey import to USA. Oval plates look like German customs plates. Whoever buys it better make sure it has all required paperwork for registration if he/she wants to drive it in US.

it probably was never federalized, so it sat unused...Whoever buys it will have to use it for parts.

the car appears to have been at least partially federalized (note the side markers in front of wheels), also the is car is EPA exempt due to age (23 yrs) and only needs a smog pump to pass emissions in most places, it becomes DOT exempt (bumpers, belts, etc) on Jan 1, 05(25 yrs)....

Hi,
Advice please.
1) Reading the posts above - does this mean the car is exempt from having to be federalized?
2) If all it needs is a smog pump - how easy is this to fix, time & $. After Jan 05 is all this mute anyway.
3) Anybody close who could look at it for me.
4) For those of you who are more expert on an OB does this look fairly stock? Someone mentioned an S option. What does that mean?
5) I love the color combination and have an interest in the car.
Thanks,
Roger

Roger,
to clarify, after 23 yrs it is EPA exempt, you only need to pass your local/state emissions (usually a smog/air pump will cover this) after 25 yrs it becomes DOT exempt meaning you don't need the rear bumber guards, US Spec sidemarkers etc, only what the car originally came equiped with
BE FOREWARNED! you will probably have to redo the motor and tranny

Rixter,
I appreciate that this is a long term labor of love and $.
What is the car worth? Just looking for ideas.
Roger
