land_shark,
Thanks for the offer - I will bear that in mind if I buy the car.

Vilhuer,
I think you are correct, there's no cover, it's a trick of the light (and dirt ).
...
ROG100,
Front air dam, rear spoiler, no rub strips, indicates a 'S' car. In Europe, the 'S' also came with a 300HP/263TQ engine, versus the non-'S' Euro engine with 229HP/271TQ (all US models with or without spoilers, etc., had only 220HP/256TQ)*.
It looks pretty stock. Factory radio. No sunroof or A/C.
*928 Specialists engine specs Note that 80-82 TQ specs are a factory manual typo, the metric value is 348NM = 256FtLbs.

If you LOVE the interior color, just buy a very nicely maintained car, and redo the interior in that color.
This car, especially the seats, will have the be redone anyhow.
It would be a hell of a lot cheaper to redo another car's leather in green leather,
than it will to redo almost the whole drivetrain, etc...

bcdavies,
I appreciate the comment about buying a better car. However I am looking for a project car and am quite prepared for the length of time and $ that may be needed.
Call me mad!!!!

also note there are no rear bumper guards and the mileage is listed in miles which suggests the cluster has been swapped to US spec and who knows what it was when swapped and if it was reset to 0 or not... personally I'd buy it and change the exterior to paint code 601 Lilac and you'd end up with almost the opposite of the last one built for sale... course I'm kinda weird that way
this exterior and the green interior w/license plate PIMP DDY

Hmmm, I wonder whether this is earlier than 1980, looking at the old road test books they have 78-79 models with air con without the button to the left of the centre vents. Don't know where it is though ... down with the hazard button ??
Of course having the Vin might help ....
Almost worth saving, interior and dash is not bad if nto like Chucks prize winner.

My '78 has AC but no AC button. The compressor is energized when the lower slider is placed in the second position. BTW - cars older than 25 years are exempt from emissions inspection in Texas. Only a safety inspection is required (lights, horn, brakes, tires, etc.) The car in question has a CIS motor (more hp?). I would value the car $500-$1,000.

Scroll down to the very bottom of this page...

Is that the same green interior? or is the colour out on my laptop?
BTW it's a pretty interesting site on sharks for anyone who hasn't seen it already...
