Buddy+Bigdate+Borrowing car= Bigballs
Hello there. My bud just called me and wants to know if he can borrow my car -comming Saturday. New /temp. girlfriend he wants to impress . I said yes but with limitations. Guts are starting to turn. If I change my mind am I a bastard!Good guy but a little crazy around the bends. First time someone elese will be babysitting my car. Mike.

How do you impress a girl w/a car? ...open the door for her. I don't think it matters what door the car is attacted to.

why would one want hang out with girl impressed by a car? it’s sort of like what Groucho Marxx said (I think): “I wouldn't want to join a club that would have me as a member”

Mr. Shmurzik If the girl is only impressed with the car,he'll get to hang it out just once. After that ,I guess when she finds out! NO PORSCHE , he'll know if she's really interested. Maybe this could be some sort of obsurd test? Mike

When another man has skirt on mind, whether he be friend or foe - no one will ever uncover the true depths of his machiavellian schemes!!
For your friend to retain that status with you, I would suggest a small counter action - to protect both your 928 and friendship: In the final analysis, he is responsible for his own skirt - not you.
As he plans to arrive Saturday, be a real bud, and insist he arrive Fri PM. Lay on a good bar-b-que, heavy on the scotch with quality beer chasers. Sprinkle his salad liberally with salt peter, and request your lovely SO to bake a tray of his favourite brownies - heavily laced with Exlax.
Come Saturday AM, he will not attribute any of his enveloping symptoms to you, but to his nerveous anticipation of conquest of said skirt: In any event, I doubt that he will either stray too far, or too fast for the duration of this visit. In the worst case, well you already have experience cleaning up after your dog ....
The good part is that the car is saved as is the friendship. The Skirt will probably thank you as well.

I'm with Shane, Shmurzik and Garth...IMHO, they have the right idea here.
Guys might think nothing of loaning their pick-up trucks or their station-car / beater but NOT their pride-and-joy Type 9-2-8. Their's too much at risk in this scenario...namely the friendship if they bollocks (sp?) it up.
Quick personal anecdote...way back in college some of my buddies and I had a pact about these types of uncomfortable requests to borrow a prized possession...they were NOT allowed / off-limits / NFW, etc.
One of the guys owned a couple of nice BMW motorcyles (K-1000; G/S___), another's Father had a nice Cessna 172!, and two others with nice sports cars...nice for college guys anyway (LOL!). Several of the guys were training to be pilots....so you can imagine...uhhh...can I borrow your plane...I want to take my girlfriend flying. Not cool...even though the ladies did like the flyin' So, we all agreed...no crossin' the line.
You're a big hearted fellow...just lay down some ground rules if he survives the BBQ / Exlax salvo
