Three Wheelin'
I think it would be nice if someone took the thumb-mechanism of the T-handle, and reoriented it like a trigger on the front of a Jager tip shifter, so that it could be activated with an index finger. It seems like it would be awkward to activate a top-mounted push button if you liked to shift between 3 and 2 frequently.

I really like the Jager Engineering shifter. I also drive my automatic by manually shifting and this shifter really works great.

The Jager Engineering shifter has an added bonus - because the pushbutton is held in place simply by a strong magnet it can be easily removed. I take the button out of mine every time I park the car - kind of an extra theft or towing prevention measure.

I installed the Momo shift **** and leather kit from 928 Specialists and I like it much more than the original.

RobbyK,
A guy in the land of OZ (Australia) manufactures a push down shifter that seems very nice. See http://landsharkoz.com/htm/rh_ss.htm.
Paul Jaegar's shifters are top notch as well - then there's always MOMO: Still with a T handle myself - too many projects, too many choices ... Good luck in your choice!.
