Just pulled the oil pan from my 928 and found there's not baffle or screen at all. The level sensor may also be damaged as there's a loose wire hanging from it, and from what I've seen in pictures, that doesn't look right. Question is, should I be looking for a shamrock baffle and screen for daily driving? I couldn't really figure out if it's supposed to be in there or if those are mostly for track cars as I've seen other baffles and crank scrapers discussed which I'm definitely not needing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Interesting. When I posted my photos of what I was installing, Greg Brown said that what I was using was the best setup because of the windage screen and sealed pickup.

Me, too. He was the one that pointed me to that setup. Hmmm.

Turned out to be a really nice pan with only a little impact mark on the bottom near the drain plug. No tears in the windage screen, no cracks in the clover, and the rubber seal on good shape.
Complete with the "later" (superceeded) pick-up to clover leaf seal.....
Gold treasure, instead of just silver treasure,

Think the secret was the "cloverleaf" pickup with the windage screen and rubber seal for the pickup to the "cloverleaf". Not all of this was in the photos I posted earlier as things were partly assembled.
@Petza914 & @Kevin in Atlanta You gentlemen have me interested, as I'm getting ready to drop my oil pan to replace the gasket in my '79. No stroker or supercharged motor here but wondered if I should look into what you guys installed while I'm down there, or should I just be fine with the stock configuration? Let me know your thoughts if you get a chance. Sorry to the OP for the hijack.

Yeah, mine's nekked. No screen, no baffle, no nothing. Do they sell these as reproductions somewhere or is everybody fighting for the old OEM stuff? At least from the pictures, I can confirm my oil level sender looks damaged, so I'll have to either find a replacement one of those or see if I can repair it. I haven't removed it yet, but there's a wire hanging off the bottom that looks like it's supposed to go to the float.
