Scary stuff, when the belt light comes on. Best not to drive the car, at all, until you determine how extensive the problem is.
If the belt lights only when you de-accelerate from higher rpm, that generally means that the belt is just a bit loose too loose. If the belt light comes on every 3 minutes, after restart, no matter what you are doing...better look at it, before you drive it.
Dr. Bob knows volumes about these cars. Give him a call and let him give it a quick look...down in the ventilation hole. He will know what the best way to proceed is.

Get AAA long distance towing...saved my butt a couple times 
Willow Springs to Orange County no problem !!! Makes it less stressfull to get a couple hundred miles from home. As long as you do not do more than three a year they are pretty easy to deal with but then wife has been a member for 28 years. Lots more tows since I have been around Some of the cars I bought have "needed" a tow shortly after I headed for home ....like 100 feet from the driveway.
