Now Shark Skin,
Well please let's not create a self fulfilling prophecy. I'll help by changing my sig.
Sorry, I thought OB meant 81 and older for some reason. I guess the S designation begining in 83 is what confused me.

Hacker-Pschor,
I can't see the temp range on the plugs. On one I can make out that it is a Bosch WR8(or9)DP. If it is 9 then it is too hot and may explain why the one plug appears to have been damaged by detonation. When you get your blower on you may consider switching to a WR7DC or even WR6DC. I am sure you know but in case anyone else out there doesn't, the number is the heat range. P is for platinum and C is for copper. Avoid using platinum plugs with forced induction.

SharkSkin,
One more thought on SCing the OB; Since the K Jet is good for 450hp an OB (K Jet) SC could probably be done for less than $2k.
I just noticed that thumbs up dealy was using is anoying. I t proabbly contributed to me looking like a jerk. I'll have to pick something else.

I guess I was just really excited about finally posting again. I stopped posting on Jan 16th or so then started posting again after I moved to Florida on the 24th.

steveZm928,
The plugs came with the car, I have a set of Bosch Copper waiting to go in. I'll check the heat ranges but the source of the plugs is very reliable, so I'm sure they are correct. And, um, my car's an L-jet. Isn't K-jet CIS?
Now add to this nasty *** plug, the plug wire on either 6 or 7 (forgot) was terrible. I pulled that plug wire off the distributor and I thought it was snowing.
My distributor cap might have been original.
My rotor was broken, pulled off the cap and it fell to the ground.
Who knows what vacuum lines might have been bad.
Also my WOT switch being bad, add all these put together, this car should run just a tad bit better once I'm done.

Dr_Wolfgang,
I wouldn't let huntley work on my lawn mower

I've been told that that ash can be caused by too cold of a plug. That or two much oil.
I'd say throw a new, correct heat, plug at it, and see what happens. If it builds up again, you could be haveing a leaking valve stem, or worn out oil ring.
The light grey one looks more or less OK to me. Maybe a bit lean as there is no carbon at all. I'm not seeing any tell tell signs of detonation. No broken or melded bits that I can see. The color could be because of the fuel. The Compression test seems to be OK, so I'd figure throw a new plug at it, and see if your vacuum line repairs helped.
Pull the plugs in a few 100 miles, and see what they look like. If we get a trend, time to do some more looking.
As for your compression test. I've been told that a 10% range is accetable for a not new motor. 140 is about 90 percent of 155, so I'd say your OK.

VB, the reason I posted the pic of the second two plus is the corrosion around the plug, and the plug hole I have posted. I guess all that corrosion has be a bit confused. Onle those two were corroded up, the other 6 were just fine.
God knows how long they have been in there.

I wouldn't worry about the corrosion to much.
The plug holds work as wounderful water traps. Get a little water in there, and you get what you've got. Usualy the boot peice seems to keep the water out, but if there is a little imperfection, you end up with what you got.
Good luck with your refit.

Hacker-Pschorr,
Sorry I am just really want to share a lot about supercharging. I know how it is when someone shows up and just starts spouting information that is irrelevant, ignorant, manuplative to help someone schill a product. It is really offensive, wastes everyone's time and destroys the integrity of a community. You'll probably find me on every supercharging thread imparting my knowledge.
Yes I know, I was talking about SharkSkin's car.
When are you going to the dyno?

Hey Steve-o,
If your intent was to make a poor first impression, then you have succeeded.
Please calm down so we don't have to take the tranquilizer gun out.
Thanks.

Hacker-Pschorr,
ViribusUnits is right about the corrosion like that. It's fairly common for water or moisture to get in the plug wells of cars that have the plugs recessed. Once it's in there, the corrosion starts and it looks like that, especially if the plugs have been in for a while lke you said they were.
SteveZm928,
You forgot the part about being retarded in your signature. I wonder if it's a case of "imitation is the greatest form of flattery", or just "monkey see, monkey do"? Good to have someone new on board that knows so much about supercharging though. They say a little knowlege is a dangerous thing. If that's true, some have made it pretty clear that there's not much of a shortage of dangerous people around when it comes to forced induction.

Randy,
Sorry I'll tone it down a bit.
SteveM928
True, imitation is the greatest form of flattery. That's why I named my-self what I did. I meshed 2 of my favorite rennlisters Z and SteveM928. I am much like them. I have no intention of having forced induction, nor have I ever had forced induction, but it is all I care to talk about. I'm glad I have so much time on my hands. Now if you are a Stevie Ray Vaughn fan we really have a lot in common. About the Special Olympics I was actually referring to how a person that is unfortunately less than adequate for activities they partake in can still feel like a hero given the right environment. You shouldn't make fun of retarded people it's cruel.

SteveZm928,
Dyno? I need to get the car running first.
Randy V,
Take a look at the time SteveZm928 made those posts. Please refer to the poll of mine you hijacked in the lounge. When ever I'm on Rennlist at 2am, the fact that I can control a mouse is amazing. Not saying this is the case for our friend SteveZm here, but it's possible.
VB, Porken, SteveM928, anybody else offering me advice:
I understand why the corrosion is there, any good way to clean up the spark plug hole? Or should I just leave it, put in a new plug and not worry. I'm afraid of getting metal flakes in the engine.
New plug wires are ready to go on as well, once I find the new spark plugs I bought.

I wouldn't worry about it. It can't corrode your head, as the heads aluminum. What your seeing is the iron of the plug being transfered to the head for some odd reason. My guess is disymiler metal corrosion.
If you wanted to, you could get an very oily rag, and clean it out. The rust will stick the to oil. Use thick oil, I'd guess motor oil SAE 30. Not the best way, but it'll work good enough.
I'd say be sure to put some antiseeze on the plug threads. Some people say there is no need, but to my way of thinking, it can't hurt. I always try to be very careful when dealing with joints between iron/steel and aluminum. Just a little bit of corrosion, and they lock up solid.
Just stick in new plugs, and smile at your now well running shark.
