Hacker removed my first one and a bunch of the other derogatory posts thank goodness. After he did that, I deleted my second one as it was no longer necessary.

Now the thread is back on track with the right focus and not all the back and forth.

I agree with the previous remaining posts, those fuel lines are indeed pretty. My concern is that the finger crimps don't crimp the hose around the circumference, but only at a half-dozen longitudinal points. That leaves open the potential for a half-dozen paths for leaks where the hose is not crimped tightly against the fitting,

I am used to seeing something more like this for fuel lines, a circumferal crimp with no potential leak paths (from cohline.de):

What am I missing here?
Jim,

I suspect that what you may be "missing" is that Roger has developed these pieces in collaboration with Cohline using their hoses, fittings and technical "know how" in this specialist field.

Remember these are low pressure relatively thin wall fittings and given the correct size of hose is used over a fitting designed for such hose the point load will be spread pretty evenly at the point of contact between the hose and the fitting. Indeed I suspect the interference between the hose and the fitting would probably seal the system pressure.

Prior to release all the hose types were submitted to Burst & Working pressure testing.
We have been using this crimp method on all our rebuilt hoses for the last three years with zero issues. And Sean used that method for at least 10 years prior to that again with zero issues.
The crimp method was perfected by Cohline and is common practice for low pressure hoses of this type. The new hoses even use the Cohline crimp tool.
Now if we were dealing with 5000psi or direct fuel injection that would be a different application.

Hmm, if I could just put my finger on which German manufacturer was using Cohline as a supplier for fuel hoses in the '80s and 9- Oh yeah. Porsche.

Nice work to get these hoses done for the 928 community Roger.

Know it wasn't a simple task to do.

Cheers.

Awesome Roger, that u hose! Looks great and for a great price! Too bad I did mine last year, otherwise I would have gotten one of those for sure. Glad someone is coming out with high quality stuff for a reasonable price.

Thanks roger. Just realized I'm still running the old weatherhead kit from 2008 on this v32 v car. If I make it 3 hours home, will park till I convert to a new set.

Good to see the products keep coming. I have been worried for a while that product development was slowly dying. Well that is available to most anyway.

Does anyone hav a S3 with the re routed hose showing hoe the “rerouted” it? Working on installing the snow set and scratching my head on best route. It’s ash “under the cam cover” on the website, but I see about 3-4 ways to route it. Currently the RED line under the coolant neck is how I’ve roughed it in.

.1985 S3 Auto.

FWIW I would suggest to reduce the bends in that fuel supply line,
it will last longer and be under less stress.
Remember the engine is a moving part and anything attached to it also moves,
thus tightly bent lines will also be flexed in a shorter area of the bend ,
thus increasing the fatigue rate

Good point. It's not overly stressed but could be less. I'll try the green or yellow route and see how it lays. Perhaps when I get everything installed find attachment points to "tidy it up" if it's just flopping around.

@Mrmerlin I routed closer to the GOLD path. It will likely closely follow the breather hose from the bottom of the OIL NECK in front of the cam cover and under the plug wires. I'll update with a pic when I button the top end up with the final routing.
