It would be, yes. All LSD are the same between manual and auto transmissions of the same year and are interchangeable.

Just the internals changed to a weaker design in 85 courtesy of US litigation

The later 85+ LSD are all the "weaker" 4 plate design vs the 8 plate design in the earlier models.....however having a properly rebuilt LSD makes a HUGE difference....based on your intended purpose and driving style......

Example when Doc rebuilt the early LSD in my 79 it was amazing how much sooner I could get on the throttle coming off corners, but that was a non street legal race car on slicks....prior to that it had a worn out old LSD that would smoke the inside tire forever

if this is the case then a 85 LSD would have the correct offset for a -83 G28.07 manual box, yes?
I'm not positive, since we don't see many G28.07 boxes here, but according to PET, that looks correct.
