source for front lower spoiler?
I bought my '84 minus the chin spoiler....it might be time to go ahead and pull the trigger. Does anyone make a reasonably priced reproduction? And if so, do they get destroyed if i hit a dip that doesn't scrape the oil pan?

I don't think there is a reproduction. It would have to be flexible urethane instead of fiberglass to have any hope of surviving. New looks like $545 from Roger, which is a pretty good price considering that I think its about the same as 20 years ago. Forget about a good used one. My new one lasted about 6 months and then I gave up. Its usually curbstones that kill them, but they are pretty vulnerable in general.

None available anywhere - when they become available again they will be $1600 each at least 8>(

Always thought the front spoiler on the the 80-86 cars made the car look a bit heavy so decided to go without. Wanted to keep the flow of air getting to the front brakes so purchased a used "S" FBC with the air intake cutouts, L&R spoiler ducts, L&R brake ducts, from 928 Intl. (already there on 80-86 "S" type cars.) Problem with removing the front spoiler is leaving a few small holes where the existing spoiler was attached through fenders. Will need to patch & paint if fussy.02

Tony, that looks really good.
I love the front spoiler on the OBs as it really adds to the sportiness of the look of the car, especially when suspension is properly dropped and wheels upsized a bit. Also can't run the mega wing in the back without visually and functionally balancing the front.
Love the front look on both my 81 Euro S and it's 84 Euro S replacement.

Alan told me to kind of focus on some 928 items that are "unobtaniuim." These spoilers are now seeming to fit into that category. Don"t you think?
I have some of these spoilers in my stash (that I do not intend to sell) because of this very shortage, but I can look at them to see just what might be involved in trying to replicate them for the rest of you.
I have studied one of them to see what it might take to make some of these and see that the real problem in forming then out of ABS plastic is in getting any part of them off of the form after the plastic is formed around them.
I continue to work on that.
If I were to take this on I would make them in three components because that is the limitation of my Vacuu-forming capabliitles. I would use ABS Plastic because I like the ability to glue it all together; and there is a lot of stuff that needs to be glued inside of them once they might be formed for the outside shape

Yeah, I thought of making them too, long ago. I would use carbon or glass and epoxy. I sometimes use an epoxy that is pretty flexible (G-flex), but it is especially sensitive to UV so they would still have to be painted and the paint would crack when they flexed.

You could always paint them in Plastidip or rubberized undercoating.
