Glad it worked out. Those phone dials should work on his VW with the proper adapter. I've got a set of them on my Scirocco (35mm thick to counter the 65mm offset) 4x100 to 5x130. It's a popular thing in the VW crowd.

While waiting to get the steering rack rebuilt, figured I'd get a "Porsche Certificate" to answer the paint color question. Survey says........
Oak Green !!
Also some extra details, like LSD (verified), higher amp battery, electric mirror right, comfort seats l/r. Cork partial leather code PA.
Question for the group. The carpet is black and looks to be original, but I've yet to see a OB with cork interior with black carpet? Not to say that I've looked everywhere, but most are obviously cork colored. Does anyone here have the cork interior with black carpet combo (in an OB)?
Been a while since I updated this thread.
Finally found someone to rebuild the rack. None other than Mark down at 928 Intl. He has a new place that does it for him. I boxed up the rack and UPS'ed it down since I wanted the original rack to stay with this 928. Shipped down in March, about 1 week turnaround only to sit on my cold concrete floor for a few months LOL.
Finally got it up in there and filled. A few swear words, new tie rods and lower ball joints, boots, couple of new steering stops, fresh fluid. Dropped it off the jack stands and it fired right up after sitting for the better part of the year.
No leaks for now. Will check over the weekend to make sure. Still amazed how clean and unmolested this 928 is.
Now I can concentrate on the interior stuff like reconnecting the gauges, dropping in the heater fan, removing the tinting, and putting all the glovebox stuff back together.
Working through the interior now. Pulled the pod and am going through the instrument cluster. Doesn't appear to be the original circuit foil, but still corroded (D100 on its way). Will also repaint the instrument cluster housing. Probably the worst "corrosion" I've seen. I've seen some with white dots before but not growing like these are LOL . The results of sitting in a nice garage hidden in the woods with no heat (in the PacNW) for years.
Got around to hitting all the connections on the circuit foil with deoxit. Also managed to clean up the housing to get it ready to paint.
What was the final decision on the paint color for the housing? I know Rob used SEM flat black, and others have used a satin? Thoughts?
