The details and complexity is amazing on the 488 Pista... Not sure I'll ever be the same after driving this rocket ship on wheels!

Someone brought a 2009 Spyker to last Saturday's car show at the museum (1000 cars). Beautiful? Maybe. Striking, for sure.

My favorite among the current Ferraris shown at the museum. "Barchetta" means little boat - notice the chines? 166 is Ferrari-speak for displacement per cylinder - always 12. The gearshift **** is labeled in Roman numerals, with "RM" for reverse - "reversimendo"? You make up what you don't know when you're a docent. The photo on the stand shows the car in a GP at Watkins Glen; it has a racing CV four pages long.

For (maybe) obvious reasons I am very partial to these cars, as well:

I'm not obsessed with them like I am with the 928 but I always like looking at them, and the original Mk1 GTI, and think that the Scirocco would look great parked next to a 928.

Have to agree. When I was looking for a non-928 project, I started looking for a MK1 GTI, but those are hard to find, and then this just kinda popped up. I need to get back to this one to finish off some small details.
