The Most Beautiful Car Ever Made
#316
The point in question regarding facetious was a 928 ROLLING OVER IN A TURN!!!!!!! LP was taking an internet quote I grabbed TOO literally!
As far as ride height and bump steer go - I will not be plowing new ground here. I do not think the BLACK 928 pictured is extreme at all and that is what I want. I have been here 20 YEARS and read almost everything and SAVED most material that might be relevant to me.
HERE are screencaps that I saved on my HD from 2018 for future reference regarding this exact topic - so I have already done the research MANY TIMES;
I have many more screencaps on the subject, my own research library, if you need any! Carl even did a bump steer study! (and sold a bump steer kit)

Mercedes Pagoda has the be top-5 most beautiful cars ever made.
It's just ridiculously beautiful.
I find it weird that when people say that Jag E-Type is the most beautiful, that they don't separate Mark I and Mark II & 3.
Only Mark I coupe deserves that title. Mark 2 and 3 are dreadful with the weird roofline.

Some cars look good/ok in photo's but don't look so good in person. Some Lambo's have that problem, look good in video's not so good in person.
E types only look good in convertible form imo and even then those tires are so narrow. The D type is Jag's best.

This one just popped up on BAT. I used to follow one of these on the way to work in the late 60's on some twisty roads (while driving my Triumph Spitfire). Talk about envy!!! Still a strong candidate for the most desirable car, but I don't have a mansion to sell so I could afford it!

I'm partial to the related Maserati Khamsin with the floating taillights, but I also think the Talbot-Lago T150 is about as beautiful as a car gets.

Of course there is the 1988 GTE prototype with its unique bodywork, luxury/sport interior, Club Sport engine, transmission and underpinnings...
Yes, some of these cars are truly lustworthy...
Bruce Joelson certainly had great taste and connections at Porsche...

[QUOTE=928cs;18829876]I still prefer a 289.
I have driven all three versions 260 (first 70 cars), 289 and the legendary 427 side oiler.
Massive differences between the cars! The 289 is the most balanced of the bunch and there are few sweeter sounds than a 289 with 4 two barrels and open pipes at full song.
But then there is the Hand of God brute power of the 427 as it struggles to put its power and torque to the road...
Smiles abound for anyone fortunate enough to drive any of these wondrous machines.

Would love to drive a 427 sometime. We have a very nice replica driving around here in Umeå. Our king here in sweden has got an original 1966 cobra. Would be worth a big chunk of money today I guess..

Can't believe the 904 hasn't been a part of this discussion yet
Personally I have always considered the Porsche 904 to be one of the most beautiful and curvaceous cars ever made.
Very much like the Ferrari Dino in it's curves, but much more beautifully done.
Not a bad line on the car.
I would LOVE to have one...
