Without rub strips an different animal..... The S cars are enough refined and from 310 HP to the 330 HP from the GT the step isn´t big.
Not so aerodynamical, but better looking!
From 85 the interieur has the good fitting seats

There is nothing wrong with the spoiler on the 928, it is an integral part of the design and functional. I cannot imagine the testing, variations and effort that the Porsche engineers went through before settling on the final version.
Some people just have to complain about something.

Ed this picture has the wrong Jaguar XKE! The convertible is the most beautiful car ever made. The hatchback is a sorry excuse for more practicality.

especially interior. Nothing in the 80's could compare to this interior design and quality.

But the quality of a 928 interior is far from superior to much of anything. Warped dashes, center consoles, stitching on the steering wheels etc.... Porsche did a lot of things well in the 70's and 80's but interior quality was not one of them. None of my Audi's, even those that sat outside most of their lives with over 200k miles on them, don't have interiors that look as bad as your typical 928.
The number of cracks in the dash of my 78 is appalling. The 1983 Mercedes sitting next to it with triple the miles looks like new.
For a Porsche, the 928 was lightyears ahead when it comes to interiors. But the bar was pretty low considering the inside of a 70's 911 or 914.
A friend of mine has a similar period Rolls Royce, now that is an unbelievable interior. Few houses have leather seats that nice.

The Audis have problems with the foam from the covers. Cracks are common also, they build the 924 and 944.
MB tex is a good cover but Mercedes uses seats like grandmas chairs with springs in it. We had a /8 and a W123 back in the days and the support of the seats was very bad.

Design is subjective and I agree one of the best designed interior layouts of all time.

As for the dash cracking and leather peeling Ferrari is worse than the 928 at that and it is not just the dash it's doors and other surfaces.

Plus Ferrari has an even more common problem with the STICKY BUTTONS that affects all years and all models, they even have a name for it . Enzo's revenge BOTH Hoovie and STG have made a thing of the buttons

But the worst interiors of the time for big bucks exotics goes to Lotus just beating out Lambo. Both have absolutely amateurish interiors. I would be embarrassed to sit in this, might need a delousing

Let's get some 928 goodness to bring this back to a positive note, The best looking, MOST comfortable driving seats with the thickest leather in the most ergonomic interior for decades! (I think the latest Bentley CGT and GTC4Lusso have gone up a notch.

I've found a better looking Jaguar, the XJ220. I see one every Saturday morning at the museum I work at. Yeah, some mechanical disappointments (especially compared to Wayne Dempsey's 959), but the design is sublime. Every museum visitor agrees it's the best looking car of the current "Radwood" exhibit. (No 928 on display, alas.)
(An oddity: the XJ220 is the only car on display with rub strips, but still ...)

While the E-type beats the 928 in the beauty segment for the majority of people. Both don't quality for most beautiful car ever. I think this prize must ho to the Luxury French cars of the 20s and 30s. The likes of Hispano Suiza, Delahaye, Delage Bugatti T57. Too bad they sll are in the Mullin museum in LA. Quite out of reach from where I live. But we have the Louman museum and off course the Schlumpf collection nearly.

OMG. That interior. It looks like the cockpit of a bad space-themed **** film from 1975.
Cheers
