don't have a definitive answer for you but if it's like modern radios any wire (thick hanger, drill bits) should release the "clips" on the side - the actual tool might allow you to pull the radio out using the tool while just using a wire should release the radio but you may have to pull on the radio itself to remove it - good luck

Default Radio

Thanks
Well the radio came out once the side black trim was removed after removal of the nuts and washers …seems these clamp to the side frame hold unit in place

cool - i'd put a towel on the center console when laying the radio on it - the edges are sharp

that service manual image is of a different radio from a later car..

Yours looks super clean and un-messed with in the radio area!

Cut a hotel plastic key card in half and see if that will work. Not sure it long enough, but might do the trick.

Default Radio

Yes after opening up assembly, as commented above , the manual shows later …….so really needed nothing but removing trim to get radio out.
Feel pretty confident this interior/console has never been out . Car is 55k original miles & incredibly clean
the radio fuse was blown 2.5A 5mm x 20mm .After search found pack of 10 for $12 shipped

Bent coat hangers work just fine to release the radio.
