Did the clock stop?

Battery ground strap. Resistance test is useless. Just gently moving them around can go from open to perfect.

Well, im a bit embarrassed to say the running on 4cyl issue was just the coil wire that goes to the distributor. It seems like the insulation degraded, moisture got inside and corroded the end that goes to the distributor and, I’m guessing, it was enough that it got loose from vibrations. Im going to Check the resistance on all spark plug wires and, if there is any other one bad, I’ll order the set. If not, I’m almost sure I have a good used set somewhere and will change the distributor wire.

But (I think) this doesn’t yet explain why my car completely died while idling. Im just going to order the two grounds and change them. They’re way overdue changing.

Thanks a lot to everyone for helping!!
Manuel,

Your Engish is inifintely better than my Spanish- I speak two languages- good English and very bad English!

If one of the HT leads to the distributor has gone chances are the entire set is done for or close to it. I rate them good for 15 to 20 years depending on useage. Try running the engine at night in a dark place and watch for the "dancing fairies"- i.e. leakage across the HT leads. If you feel really brave try taking a leak over them! [only joking].

I just checked the battery ground strap and it looks perfect. I removed some of the heat shrink from it and the copper strands look brand new. I ordered an engine ground strap, since I remember it looking kind of ugly when I replaced the oil pan gasket. I also was able to confirm my problems were not just the lead; one of the ignition modules is bad. I switched the connectors and it started doing the same thing on the other side, so I just ordered both modules. I will also be ordering some ignition wires when I have some money (I just bought front brake rotors and calipers too) . This thing gets way too expensive for a college student. Im graduating this semester and will, hopefully, have money to get the car to where I want to. I want it to be a reliable long trip car, and not have to only use my 944 most of the time.

I haven't had the shutting down problem again; however, I will move the ignition switch connector and the key to see if there is any weird thing happening

Not saying its not the Ign, but were the + cables at the battery tight?
