without machine work simply screw the cap lugs onto the studs on the rear hubs,
no one will ever know.

UNLESS you hire inspector gadget.

I have a set of 20 closed end silver aluminum lug nuts for sale. Is open ended steel or titanium ones ta actually secure the wheels, then screw these aluminum ones on after to make them look nice

Hello, sorry to revive this thread, but wanted to ask @84_928S and @Petza914 how the rear wheels with 23.3 offset are working out after several more months? They look great. I have an '83 S with 17" turbo twist wheels at the moment and have the same desire to put phone dial wheels on it. I've wanted one like it since circa 1980. Nothing against the slot design. I obtained a set of 16x7 et65 phone dials so I plan to use 2 of them on the front and am looking at options for the rear. Either find a pair of 16x8 23.3 or a pair maybe 52.3 offset and use a spacer to get a slightly wider track. My car does not have spacers at the moment, and didn't come with them per the option list. I guess I could also use the 16x7 wheels I have temporarily.

Also @84_928S if you happen to read this, is that DupliColor wheel paint you used the standard silver or their "graphite" color? The results were impressive.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I actually sold the white car and bought an 84 Euro S that I'm running the same wheels I have on my convertible on. After rolling and flaring the fenders I didn't have any issues with the et23.3 wheels and it seems like on some cars they fit without more than rolling the lip, but on others like my old one need more persuading to fit, so I think it's impossible to say that they'll fit your car with just a lip roll without maybe test-fitting them. Going with the other offset and customizing the stance with a spacer is certainly the safer bet as that will let you push them out as far as your ride height and alignment settings will allow.

Regarding the finish, I had them redone in pearl white with a polished lip to match the color of the car and that deep lip on the et23.3 being polished was one of the critical look factors I was going for that you can't really achieve with the wheel that has the more conservative offset.

Don't know if that helps at all, but that's what I've got for you.

This is the car I replaced it with that has nearly flawless paint, is sunroof delete so my 911 sport seats fit in it much better, and is a nicer overall car - it's an auto though and I do miss the 5 speed a bit, but also have 4 other manual Porsches to scratch that itch, so am OK with it. Wheels on this one are 18x8 et 57 front and 18x10 et 65 with 10mm spacer (so net et55).

Thanks a lot.

I loved the clean sides - no side markers, no antenna hole, no rub strips. The back seat is gone and it's all stereo, which is a little crazy, but sounds insane.

It's getting 991 hardback sport seats in it and will then be completed and ready for the summer events.
