Default Head and block warpage tolerances?
Hi Guys - what are the warpage tolerances for a s4 head and block?

As some of you know I am replacing my head gaskets, and want to prepare myself for going to the machine shop.

Well, that made finding the RA easy. Roughness Average (RA) = 0.015mm.

Mainly doing this for future searches... and because I had trouble locating this info

Hi,
can anyone tell me the thickness tolerances for the later S4 heads. I have found a figure of 146.6mm to 146.8mm but my heads are thicker than this.
4R casting with a date 8/90.

Those numbers are acceptable height after machining. New heads are 147mm +/- 0.1mm as per WSM.

Does that align?

got hold of a clear picture showing where to measure from.
Heads are 147.0mm.
