I will be there Thursday evening, and can be available Friday evening. Until the refreshments start flowing. I troubleshoot poorly when lit...
I will be Bob's copilot in his sweet GT on Saturday.

Ed, on the cowl, is the 'freeze' switch. It has two push on female spade connectors. With the AC on, one of those will have 12VDC on it, IF the HVAC control head relay is working. If not...
The relay on the heater control requires removal and modification of the heater control. Not fun.

bet one of the pressure switches is dead - or the freeze sensor. They all run in series to help disconnect the compressor if things are going haywire. If there are any opens in the circuit, compressor won't come on.

Stitch's kick-down doesn't work; the cable is frozen. I volunteer him as tribute for a class on freeing and adjusting that cable.

The compressor comes on and stays on as I can see the clutch engaged and spinning. HCV is new though I haven't checked to make sure it's closing under vacuum. I might integrate in an electric valve I can close with a switch or a simple mechanical cut off valve with hose barbs in that line. I'm not a big A/C fan and would rather drive with windows down so closing it for summer and opening it for winter would work just fine in my case.

Okay, so I've seen a lot of very good suggestions for Frenzy Tech Session topics. Now I need one or two volunteers to lead the sessions. If you are an expert on one of the topics mentioned above and would be willing to lead a session, send me a PM to let me know.

Too bad I won't be down this time. Why not something simple like i did? How about ignition harness replacement and testing? We'll that may be an option if Frenzy lasted for 6-9 months. 🤣

Does anyone have the equipment needed to charge a R12 AC system? I have the Freon but can't find anyone up here that still has the lines to recharge it. If so, please bring to me Frenzy.

I'm not attending Frenzy, but live about 40 minutes from the venue and I do have the right hoses for R12. I've got a standard manifold set, the R12 hoses and a can side-tap in case what you have are small cans. If no one else is bringing what you need, drop me a line and we can figure something out.

Thank you! I will contact you if I don't get it charged by then.

Eric,

I'm pretty sure I still have the R-12 hoses and gauges. Please let me know if you want me to bring them.

Eric,

Verified I have the gauges and hoses as well as a tap for a can or R-12. They are all setting beside the car, ready to 'insert'.

Can't thank you enough. I have (2) small cans of R-12.

For Eric or anyone needing R-12, I have a 30 lb jug that I no longer need. It has ~2 lb, 8 oz of R-12 refrigerant left in it. R-12 has recently been selling on eBay for low $30's to high $40's per lb, including shipping. I'll deliver this to Frenzy for $70. Let me know if you want it. I no longer have any car that uses R-12.

Cheers and stay cool (no way to do that better than with R-12!!!).

Gary
