First off, congratulations and welcome to the forum! We definitely need to see some pics and some info on the car ;-)
I just went down the same trail with the latest addition to the fleet, an '87 S4 that sat for 15 years. I am not sure if it was the best thing to use, but I sprayed a mixture of ATF and Marvel Mystery Oil into the bores. I stuffed the cam in some holes before that and they were clean as a whistle, but most definitely not lubricated anymore.

Good luck with the car!

I like Kano Kroil. But getting it to the various areas with the pistons sitting at an angle is challenging, as would be the case with most penetrating oils. I used a long straw attachment that I found on Amazon. But honestly, Sta-Bil has a fogging oil and that is probably all that is needed, along with a 10lb hammer to “encourage” things a bit.

^^ yeah, it's a battery box cover for a 78. They're worth serious $$$ now as they are very rare and many are missing theirs.

I do hope that is a joke?
Because, if it is, you’re supposed to say, tree fiddy!

Why do you think that's a joke? Lots of very hard to source 928 parts sell for big money, such as front belly pans (up to $700), uncut center console trim bezels for $500 or more, center blank between the window switches ($100 or more), nice non-sunroof headliners ($1,000), etc.

A rare one year only battery box cover will certainly sell for this number to someone who need it for a show car restoration.

Say more about console trim please, as I have a couple of H trim pieces.

On S4 sitting that long, my experience says you must pull the injectors. Those little inlet basket filters clog if sitting that long.

Do you know why it was parked? If the story suggests it was operational, then it would shape my resurrection plan.
