Default Rare 928 Literature for sale

Hi guys:

I have duplicates of a few rare 928-related literature pieces, and thought I'd give you guys a first shot at purchasing them - before they go on ebay or else... Hopefully posting this will not get me in trouble with the Rennlist Administration.

Note that all of these pieces are very rare and therefore can't be cheap. So please don't blast me, if you don't agree with the asking price - low supply drives the cost up even when I buy for my own collection. The weak Dollar does not help either...

Here are the pieces:

928 Convertible by Voll and Gemballa: A four page, four color brochure, clear coated on the outside. US$20.00

b&b Convertible (same company that made the targa): two pages, front with four color image, back with some technical info. US$12.50

1988 928 S4 original factory brochure, German version, with beautiful pictures of a black Euro with all black full leather interior. Some scuff marks on the cover. US$16.00

Porsche Exclusive factory brochure from 8/91, covers all models and shows each piece of the 928 interior that was available leather covered, plus phone console, and a special CD-tray in the door. Also contains a big picture of a beautiful cobalt blue metallic GTS without side mouldings... US$20.00

Porsche Exclusive factory brochure (book format) from 9/93, covers all models. Shows the factory's wider steel front fender option, burlwood, CD-Tray, rear window washer, etc... That's the ultimate Exclusive brochure! US$25.00

If you are interested, please contact me by email.

PS: I also have been able to secure a limited supply of the very detailed 1:87 scale 928 "S" models by Herpa in red and black. These have been out of production for ages, and I was really surprised to find them. I will photograph them and put them in my store in the next few days. Price will be US$11.99/each, plus shipping (and VAT, if you are in CA).

Default Another very rare item

I also have two of the original Porsche 928 S4 keychains available. These are a little smaller than the Spark keychains I usually offer - I'd guess they are around 1:90 scale. The finish looks like nickel.

These are pretty well made, and were available through Porsche dealers in the late 1980ies. In the five years I've been working the 928 collectible market, I have come across three of them - one is now in my personal collection, and two are for sale.

Here is a picture of one of them:

Asking price: $29.00, plus $3.50 for shipping.

Update:

Looks like the keychains are spoken for as well. The Voll Convertible brochure is sold.

Only literature item left from the above list is the b&b convertible sheet. If you are interested, but feel the price is too high, make me an offer!

Wow! A rear squirter! The CD caddy is funky.

Anyone actually seen these installed?

What's the rear squirter for? Is it for the window? I can't tell from the picture.

Yes, it's a rear window washer. 928s come standard only with the wiper - and due to the flat angle of the rear window rarely need a washer. However, there are people who live in dusty regions, don't have time to wash ther car, or just plain like an additional gadget... Porsche needed to capitalize on that Cost for this option was about $1k

Nicole,

Are these available in electronic format?

I'd love to see the options and GTS upgrades close up. That GTS rosewood center console looks too much like Jager's, even the round brass bezel clock. Any optional cup holders?

Nope - no cup holers ever for the 928, at leat not from the factory. At the time, German engineers insisted that cars are solely built for driving, not for drinking....

I'll see, if I can make some scans of Exclusive pages available. It'll be at least a few days, though, as right now I am working on adding lots of new items to my online store. Since yesterday I added quite a bit of 928, 944, 968 and other stuff, and I stil have a pile of 911 related items to list. They might even have to wait for a week...

Don't worry, they'll stay in the hands of Rennlist addicts.

I want to thank everyone who responded. Gosh, I had no idea how many of you are interested in the Exclusive program. I will keep my eyes peeled for more literature on it.

A few of you asked me for pictures on the 928 "S" models by Herpa. I posted them in my store (www.hookedoncars.com) this weekend. Now I have three pages of 928-related items...

Please note that my supplies of these Herpa models is extremely limited. This was one of those "accidents" where I stumbled upon something when I least expected it. It's unlikely I'll find more like these in the future - if I do, they might be a lot more expensive, or different colors, or not in the original box.

Even more limited are the red and white Herpa S4 - I only have one each.

I'm also running low on Solido 1:43 scale models. same situation as with the Herpas. All this stuff hasn't been made in ages...
