Another set of Powder Coated S4 Manifolds
Picked them up today. The owner personally does the work. I never worry about abrasive material left behind.

Ran my finger on all the blasted surfaces and absolutely no grit.
I asked Dan, the owner if he washes them before powder coating - he said no, he blows them clean But, all the parts are dipped to loosen the OEM coating prior to blasting.
I've been using these folks for as long as I've worked on 87+ cars.
All by Professional Cryogenic Metallurgy Coatings in Cumming GA. Not cheap, expect to pay $500 for the complete set. But, not worrying about a ruined engine ... priceless.

Your guy should tape off the hose ends (or they can leak), the flappy rod ends (or they're too tight to fit the clips), and the water temp sensor posts (so they ground).
The finish on these looks really good..

I normally use a threaded rod to protect the flappy rod ends - I forgot that this time. That's on me.
I grind the water temp sensors post powder coating. But, I've never suffered a grounding issue an the cross overs I left alone.

Never had a hose end leak. I have had the ball bearing go missing on the smallest outlet, though. :-(

Just those little things to prevent any issues. Some see them, some dont, but nobody should.

Not cheap- are you kidding? If they can do a job like that and return it sterile with not a granule of blast media left behind I would call that a really good value for money deal.

Nice. Will look even better if you add color to the raised and recessed letters - maybe something that matches the exterior color of the car.

To each his own.
Personally, I like the look of the lettering painted in a color complimentary to the car (body color is a nifty option).
But the stark simplicity of that engine bay is truly gorgeous.
