Normy, I swear I'm not trying to start a fight here, although it will certainly come off that way, BUT here goes.

Wasn't it you who flamed the LIVING HELL OUTA ME, turning it into a personal attack, even bringing in my parents and my apparently poor upbringing for running an X-pipe and no cats?????? Now you are running an Ott X-pipe and no cats???? Not that I argue with your choice of exhaust mind you, but I do find it strange that it's ok for you to run a similar system, yet I was a tree killing abomination for it. Strange.

I know Chris...I thought about that.

Well, listen: the $500 S4 cats that I bought and installed got plugged for whatever reason...probably because my car has some sort of rich-running issue that I've yet to nail down. When I pulled them, it was night and day, not some silly "tenth in the quarter mile" issue or anything- suddenly, I was worried about my rear tires. I have to be carefull now at every stoplight, since they will go up in smoke if I let the clutch out too fast. The car can finally breathe.

I've been adament before on this issue, and I still think it is valid. Perhaps my level of admonishment was totally wrong with you-I guess I have a bad temper. But I'm still planning on re-installing a set of cats on my car. If your garage wall is not black like mine is....then if you still have no cats then perhaps you should start researching them like me. Despite the California-folks results, I still think they do something and should be there.

Normy!

Normy--Sigs are a great choice. Save yourself a few hundred dollars and get a Sig-Pro. My personal favorite is the P2340 in 40 S&W (little brother of the 10mm). If you've got the bucks, get the P229 in 40, they're all good. Too bad they don't make a 10mm, I'm a fiend.

How does one go about getting an Ott X-pipe without driving to Oregon? I'm going to have my exhaust done on the new old car and I'd like to get it right the first time.

Speaking of the Ott X-pipe since we are already WAY OT.

Is there an option for us running MSDS headers? I know Tom "The Power broker" has a template for a Y-pipe for MSDS headers on 16V cars.

CATS are coming off my car once the headers go on. For the 5,000 miles I drive the car a year, any city bus that I see spits out more fumes in one day than my 928 will in one year.

http://www.randomtechnology.com/

perhaps a source for high flow cats Normy. Get two and take your cat bypass/Ott pipe in and tell them to weld them up. Just an idea.
