You will have to pre-purchase the valve seals and send them with the heads. After that, the cost is $180/4vhead for new valve guides and I believe lapping the valves.

They are really nice people to work with including our favorite, Amber 'The Dyno-Girl'.

"If they were out on the track too, I should be able to kick Jim Bailey and Mark Kibort's *** though (...and MAYBE Mark Anderson's too), on street tires even...."

There's alot more to lap times than just HP. I seriously doubt that even using the same driver your car could be anywhere close to lap times as mine. I've beat cars with 100 hp more than me and I've also lost to others that had 100 less.

Hacker ...."PS- Jim, I've been interested in the S&W 500 and the Desert Eagle for a while.....only, I'm concered about the recoil. How bad is it? " The local range that rents the 500 mag only includes 5 bullets may people do not shoot all five ! the most I have shot mine is 35 rounds in one session alternating between my Kimber 45 auto and 357 magnum . After the 500 the 357 magnum feels like a 22 . I have yet to shoot it one handed but regularly shot 454 Casul that way . The 500 magnum is like 50 lbs of boost in a 928 !! The worlds most powerful production handgun , they were not joking something like 2700 ft lbs of energy but fortunately like the ft lbs of torque of a 928 engine there is no time element /factor in torque . So the horsepower of the 500 magnum is quite low since the BLAST occurs so rapidly . The cartridges for the 500 Magnum are about $2 per bang so I will be getting the dies to reload them . I really enjoy shooting it because it is so totally outrageous , intimidating and useless . The fact that some California legislators attempted to ban them perhaps increased demand .........superchargers quite possible are the same

Racing bikes in the canyons, even guys with the best machinery out there, would often get their a$$es handed to them by some experienced racer on an old 250 or something... There is a lot more to winning certain kinds of races, than just what kind of hardare you have. Obviously, highway roll-on races, or certain drag races do not require as much skill. But in *real* racing, experience counts for a lot...

Hmm. Am I reading Lag's and Marc's comment, correctly?? I don't think so. Is Lag stating that he has lost a head gasket or that he replaced it as preventive maintenance? Is Marc suggesting that head gaskets are going to be "wear" items--that simply cannot be the case.

Some clarification please and if there are alternative viewpoints I'd like to know them including, but not limited to, how the head gaskets on a mercedes with 500+ HP and a SC does not need the head gasket changed all the time but a 928 would--this does not add up to me.

I think it's related to how much boost you run.

But if the head gasket were to fail due to excessive boost,
it seems like there are several options for beefier gaskets.

So I doubt you would be replacing them all the time.
And if you keep the boost low, it should not be an issue.

Jim,
If you make it to Wisconsin this year with Mark, I expect to hear the final version.

Jim,

One suggestion to add to your chorus lyric:

"give me boost , give me boost , give me boost, YEAH!"

"give me boost , give me boost , give me boost, YEAHHHHH!!!"
