Tim,
Sounds like a great day!!
Now, your kit is quite complete... but wouldn't it be MORE complete if beer and pizza were included?
SC'ing vs Turbo... "Well the Murph kit comes w/beer and pizza." SOLD!

Seth,
You need to make a deal with your wife... she's a lawyer; she knows the game...
Either concede to dump the Audi, bring her on that cruise she has pined for or buy her a 928 or something, but get your butt into a SuperShark without delay.
I'm happy with mine & the installation experience. If you're not much of a wrench, just take your time. Enlist a gearhead buddy to help. You will get through it with the help and encouragement of Tim & SuperShark owners #2, 3, 4 & 5.
As with any modified auto, you should be more attentive about how it is running, but as has been said it just acts stock until you hammer it (there is more power at every throttle position, but you adjust).
Supercharging will quickly become the performance enhancement of choice for the 928.

Seth,
WOW, I did not know that your wife was a lawyer also...does she also work with you at Wilson?
Your Audi was built for boost, just not as much as you desire to pump through the engine. And you are one who likes to drive hard, and push the limits of manufactuers claims. As you should.
Time will tell if the 11ps, or 9 psi, or 5 psi or whatever, systems that are offered will survive in the hands of folks like yourself, or me for that matter.
I hope the SC applications at 11psi or more on stock engines with stock components prove to work perfectly, under all user conditions, and then more "better" mousetraps will come on the market, at much lessor prices, and we all win!
I am still looking for additional information on head gasket failures in SC engines..but no one is "talking"
In fact, I need to order a set. Anyone else need a set of gaskets
It might take a year or longer for a stroker, but they last forever, and are virtually industructable!
Let the good times roll!

My wife and I do not work together--though we once did! ; )
BTW, she also happens to drive a supercharged slk230. While it sounds like a lawn mower, its has no appreciable lag to me.

For an auto repair shop what is worse than doing work on a lawyer's car ?? when the lawyer's wife is ALSO an attorney No disrespect intended but an attorney KNOWS their rights , Knows how the legal system functions and can for very little money just a bit of "spare time " seek to right any real or perceived wrongs . Since the supercharger kits are ILLEGAL (as are strokers , headers , adj fuel regs , cat bypass ) any shop that performs an illegal installation or even services / tunes such a car is probably in an undefensible position if push comes to shove . Just another one of many reasons why I am really happy that we (928 International) do not work on customer cars . Auto repair is a tough enough business even when what you are doing is LEGAL . Hiring , training and retaining (perhaps the most difficult one) mechanics can be very challenging for an independent shop with limited resources , no benefits or formal training program . The good guys tend to gravitate to the dealers (to work on new cars ) get factory training or open their own shop once they have learned the trade and developed a customer following . About the only way for a shop to "protect " themselves might be to Require that "racecars" be delivered to them on a flatbed , no license plate be on the vehicle and it must leave the shop on a flatbed . That with a signed statement from the owner of the car that it "IS A RACE CAR " and is not and will not be ever driven on a public highway . Somehow I think Mr and Mrs Attorney could find a way around even that !

Two questions, one point:
"two large pizzas, and a dozen donuts later "
1. What is your cholesteral like?
2. How much boost this time?
3. Keep up the good work....but drive safe-!

The laws regarding emissions equipment and modification are Federal laws . The States also have implemented their own additional rules regulations and penalties plus are the primary enforcers of the laws . The Feds use the carrot of federal money to direct the states to "conform" to things like ....speed limits . Tampering with emissions equipment is illegal whether it is enforced or not , whether you get caught or not . I do occasionally speed therefore I am a criminal . The old very brown 1980 is also a criminal . And Yes I like Jack Daniels , my S+W 500 magnum , but do have liability insurance for the 928 , and am probably a cholesterol magnet . What am I doing living in California ?
