Did any one see this on ebay?

The Hood thing.
For a car that, suppositly, nothing was done to, it's odd that it would be out of adjustment. Since it's out of adjustment, something was done to it. Why? And more importantly, why what ever was done wasn't included in the discription?

OK, the seller finally coughed up some pics. No affiliation; I asked, he emailed. Looks like this car was made the same month as mine. I'll probably take these down shortly after the auction ends, so if someone else wants to host the pics feel free!

I agree with Jim engine bay area looks a little worn for 1200 miles- nicks and scratches etc. Maybe the damage was done when someone stole the engine badge!

Maybe, but it has also lived for 24 years in a relatively damp climate. The cross brace appears to have never had a wrench put to it, the washer fill spout is not discolored from heat, the throttle body & inner fenderwells are unusually clean. Look at the clip holding the coil wire to the TB cover. Don't those discolor pretty quickly?
Flip side... how the heck do you lose the jump terminal cover in 1200 miles? Or did they not put the large plastic shroud on the earliest models? Also the fan bracket is pretty dirty, and the headlight shaft looks like crap. Do they salt the roads in NH? I'd imagine one or two drives on salty roads plus years of storage after incomplete cleaning might account for some, but not all of this.

I would assume the car doesn't run very often, so at times it probably has a dead battery needing to be charged. Someone charges the battery and puts the plastic jump cover down somewhere in the garage. Can't remember where they put it, but figured what the hell it will reappear. In no time they forgot they were even looking for it. In a few months is will appear and nobody will know what the hell it is so it will end up in the garbage.
And that's the story Dr. Watson . . . . . .

My car has a factory fitted First Aid Kit in the centre pocket between the rear seats. I wonder whether this is missing or simply not supplied in that year/market.

I think the early cars were pretty bare boned, they added things as the years went on.

It appears to have the cover over the terminal itself, the only cover that needs to be removed for a jump start. It's the larger cover that shields the 14-pin connector that's missing.

So lets say the car has 1300 miles on it and it is a true collectable destined for a musem...... Why is it out in the rain?
I agree that a damp climate could have slightly damaged the leather (and the crazy checkerboard)
