Instead of being at PVGP & 928 Rendezvous (pearlglanz with envy) I find myself hobbling around cleaning the Car Cave in preparation for moving in...
Not a great trade, but this has to be done...
Cleaned reception entry area / coffee / bar / caterers kitchen / the staircase / mezzanine - main area...
Not a smoking hot maid in sight!

On an unrelated note:
This project has been going on simultaneously for the last two years. I have always wanted one of these old busses and spent a significant amount of time and money in the search and restoration. This one is going to be the one that "If pimps drove VW busses, this would be the one they'd drive".
1967 VW 23 window Deluxe Samba Safari tribute...
After a long structural restoration at a private shop in Brazil (which used all NOS VW parts), the bus is has been transferred to the factory authorized restoration center. Now it is getting its proper sunroof, headliner, all new glazing and then it leaves for upholstery... White with turquoise piping...
The restoration center is a mere 75,000 sq ft. I hope it does not get lost as it has a container booked for transportation to the U.S. in late September.

Friends don't ask friends to help them move...
All of my storage items were moved into the Car Cave by a team of guys that did not know where anything went, when the building was not completely ready for the move (sometimes things get out of sequence). But I had to get out of my old garage so the new owner could move in...
Made this mess....
After a week of processing:
The paving company is finally prepping the parking lot... (almost 20,000 ft). Should be finished on Wednesday as the weather looks great!
Serious increase in cost of paving since it was bid during covid. What was a $15,000 parking lot is now a $36,000 parking lot. We are doing it in two lifts at least a year apart with 2" going in now and another 2" going in once the neighborhood is built out. This way any settling can be perfected...
So, the next update should look like a more finished product.
Big thanks to the crew that has been helping me move, my Dr's., Physical Therapists and my contractor. We have a long way to go on this crazy ride!

Very nice you have a lot of helpful hands around you.
Here in Germany prices for construction are also crazy but I think next year after the new housing market is collapsed the prices are more reasonable again.

I think you are correct on that pricing collapse. It has already started. Unfortunately I'm not wanting to deal with the incomplete parking lot because of all the dirt being dragged in and the potential erosion around the edges if we get a big rain or ugly winter and thaw cycle. Earlier in the summer the price was just over $60,000 because high grade asphalt was absurdly expensive and looking to be even more! This $35k price is also for the second coat paid in advance to lock in todays price just in case things get crazy again. In todays world, its all a crap shoot and I want this project as finished and paid for as possible.

The next problem is electricity, CO2 quotes, shuting nuclear powerplants down and let german bureaucracy braking out the construction of new green energy facilities.

$35K for 2 layers on a lot that size does not seem unreasonable. $15K sounds like it would have been a serious bargain.
The project looks so great. Well done. Can't wait to see some photos without cardboard boxes in it lol.
That VW bus build is insane. Epic.
Cheers

Here is the last shot of the building with a sandy mess around it! Tomorrow is asphalt day!!! No more tracking in all sorts of dirt! Love it!
@Bigfoot928 - - - As regards a 928 event? Dunno, I live pretty far from the main stream of things. I doubt many people would make the trip...
