I'm sure your parents would be proud.

That's an outstanding achievement Dave.
Congrats and be proud of that gorgeous place my friend!

Karsten,

We did not go full on Buffalo. Much less here and only received about 2 feet at the house (65 cms) and 2.5 feet at the Car Cave. The ski areas received 3-4 feet and are off to a great start. Thanksgiving was almost 60 degrees and melted most of the snow near the big lake since it is quite warm yet. Given the warmth of Lake Michigan we should have some magnificent "lake effect" storms.

Skiis are sharp and at the ready in my locker at the hill...

Just went through all 34 pages and am dying to know the album/song-how about a hint like a genre maybe-blues, jazz, pop, motown, Rock, etc.... One long shot guess- Janis Joplin "Mercedes Benz"-your friend was into MBs and his friends (you) drove Porsches.

Your "garage" is a dream come true for many-including myself.

Thanks! It has been a challenging yet satisfying adventure! 34 pages? Who would have thought when it started that it would be worth the read...?

Last week we installed the air compressor and the air lines so that I can fill a tire anywhere and can use air to clean things on the various work areas. All these details take time a bunch of details (like custom connector hoses) and lots of connectors! The entire system is built in PEX and will be clean and condensation free.

Ahhh, the music? I think I picked something a little too obscure. Every clue that I think of would make it obvious (to me at least). Its 70's rock - - - unless I change it to Thomas Dolbys "Aliens ate My Buick" or Oingo Boingo's "Only a Lad". Or Thelma Houstons "Pressure Cooker". Or Franz Liszt's "Totentanz" or "Sonata in B Minor". Since it would be impolite to change, I'm sticking with my original choice because I used to listen to it in my earliest wrenching days...

Here are a couple of photos of the compressed air goodies...

5 - 50 ft retractible air hoses mounted on walls and the lift.

Great! now there is air all over the place. Hot Air? Yup, some of that too! And scotch n beer? Yup some of that too...

OK, now for the really expensive stuff...

I had a worm hole installed so that my cars could travel through the space time continuum and be returned completely brand new before they left the building.

Sort of like sending one of them to Rob, Greg or the Worf man and having them returned without ever seeing the bill or taking on the logistics! They just see a sudden increase in their bank balances...

This is a photo of the XX8 car just after it returned and had not even cleared the worm hole aperture!

Ya can't make this stuff up!

Someday I'll have to divulge how this thing is powered...

In the meantime, go racing, riding, skiing or anything that gives you a thrill... Life's short!

This magnificent place can ONLY be opened to Also Sprach Zarathustra...IMHO

(aka the theme to Kubrick's movie 2001. We all know how that majestic piece set the stage for the movie)

Also would help to open all the garage doors at the same time as the movement builds and builds...

I cannot conceive of a more majestic opening than to see the doors open and the sun shine in on this masterpiece...

What a memorable way to christen the opening.

Just a thought...

Frank

A great suggestion! Also Fanfare for the Common Man by Arron Copeland would be along similar lines...

I was dreaming about the car Cave last night and oddly it was not about cars... The dreams looked something like this...

The deep roar of a large capacity V8 and the sub Contra F resonance of a Bosendorfer concert grand are more aligned than the average person would think...

Winter is real here:

So I grabbed an old classic Polaris with a tuned pipe on it... Children must play!

We have a pair of distant cousins to yours that FLY across "melted" snow.

Also antiques (1999 models) but they still deliver an outstanding thrill ride!

We've been having a serious winter here. Push the snow around with the Unimog, then move piles with the Bobcat. Deal with "metal roof dumps" as they occur. Repeat as necessary.

No need for any other toys.

That Unimog is simply an amazing beast for snow removal and other outrageous offroad activities.

We had a big 30" dump early but things have been pretty quiet and relatively warm since Christmas. Our piles are manageable so far and I leave the parking lot mostly unplowed for security reasons. The roof slides can be massive and I'm watching how/where the piles build up and have purchased a sizable Honda snowblower to eat them up and throw them instead of pushing it when I feel like it. My neighbor who bought my old building plows his parking lot onto my property and with the right wind I am sure to get a huge drift. We get along well and have purchased the adjoining acreage around our properties and are developing a full on car community along with his car museum. Stay tuned for updates on the increased scope of car activities adjoining the Car Cave. It will be impressive to say the least!

Here is my present winter wonderland...

Whole different scene at the house where the suns out and big lake is trying to freeze...
Small Ice volcanoes have formed on the beach and the offshore landscape is changing every day. Soon large ice volcanoes will form on the offshore shoals and the real show will begin. It gets quite beautiful in the dead of winter!
