I don't know.

Not that I have this much coin to flip, but this could be interesting for willing bidders.

The fact it will be here in Indy at auction means I will most likely check it out!

I read somewhere $40K reserve.

Absolutely the fastest to date...

Carl has done everything from Pikes Peak to Land Speed races with the Megladon. And survived! I was trying to find sites for the last speed record run and In talking to Carl it seemed he was doing the last hurrah!

What a storied car... I was thinking about heading to the auction but have a scheduling conflict. Perhaps I'll take a shot at it on-line. The question is: What the heck would I do with it?

And who could maintain the thing! Definitely and APEX Predator!

Salute' to Carl!

Mr. Brown must be pleased when another competitor has left the scene.

Really a momentus event in the 928 community when someone as significant as Carl sells the business he built around that car and it's racing and land speed record career.

Assuming carl is healthy, I'm happy for him and hope he finds satisfaction in his next mechanized endeavor or phase of life. The time is ripe for changes and carl was drenched to the bone regarding 928's. Geniuses are often abrupt. Economically and socially Now is one of those 100 year moments and Carl is again on the cusp.

Lets look at it as an opportunity for Carl to move on to something else and do some great work there while creating some space for the next punter. Clearly his records will stand for a long time for the 928 and may never be broken. That reminds me on the Twilight Episode ' A Game of Pool" where the pool player carries the burden of of being the at the top of his game. No spoilers but I can help but think.

Over here in Europe there is no one like Greg Brown or Carl Fausett. We have to manage on our own.

Carl sold the business. 928 Motorsports is still in business, and I assume the new owners will at some point make an appearance here and let us know. I saw the news of this on FB.

I hope the driveshaft bearings that are limited to 5K RPM are disclosed. Bearing RPM ratings are limits not to be exceeded. All the bearings he put in his kits were low speed bearings for electric motors. It should be ok if the car is kept as a museum piece and not raced.

It would be awesome to own and take to events, and shows. A few drag races each year, etc. might make the investment worth it...
