I don’t remember to have seen cork seal stuck on the body valve. I will check at the next fluid change. And I will take pictures 😃

I think to change my new Mobil DEXRON 2D by Castrol or Motul DEXRON 3. Do you agree ?

5 years ago we have set the flex plate bride. Do you think it could be an issue ?

Thank you for pictures in post #21. Wow 😱

The link that you provided shows the two cork seals in the picture.

The car’s not driveable right?
When you take the pan off, I’d also repeat the test of moving the selector and watching what happens internally. Maybe the internal plastic part on the end of the selector valve has broken or is not engaged for some reason. You can re-use the same fluid so long as all your containers are very clean before you drain it.

A friend, expert in trans, has checked my car. All is good outside the transmission.

Next step : Check the pressures.

BTW. There is a shock in the pan. What is behind this inside thé pan ?

That does not look good! I would pull the pan as suggested by the other extremely knowledgeable members and see what you have. These guys know their stuff. Post pictures of your findings for more help.

I agree 😉
Before to remove the pan, I am waiting for a new filter. It is on the road from France, 10500 miles by plane !!!

Unless there has been a major failure you do not need a new filter- you already have one! As has been stated several times now, drop the ATF, collect it in a clean vessel for possible re-use and take a look at what is going on.

If that is a bulge in the oil pan that we are looking at then that is indeed worrisome- has anyone recently decked the car whilst driving?- you said someone was driving the car just before this problem "happened".

Looks like its been driven into the end of a pipe, has your friend got some cash if an expensive fix is required?
It could be old damage that's not relevent or might be new and has impacted the valve body inside, only one way to find out. Your Trans expert needs to dig deeper.

The dent in the oil pan on the front driver side does not look very promising IMHO. There is not a lot of clearance between the pan and the valve body at this spot.
Were you in the car when your friend was driving and was the dent in the pan before the oil change? Below a picture from my reverse clutch B3 job 5 years ago, it shows exactly what I'm talking about. Your dent would be on the left side of the pan in this picture BTW.

My friend says he took care about my 928. I want to believe in him.

Thanx a lot for your expertise. It’s very interesting.

Unfortunately, I was not with my friend when he was driving. Never ever let someone else drive your 928 again !!!!!

Now we have to remove the pan to see inside.

We don’t remember if the dent was there or not before’ the oil change. But we believe that we would have seen it ...

I doubt there is any way in the world you would not have spotted that dent when changing the oil filter. That there is something very suspicious, you did not spot it in the first batch of photos and now you have seen it suggests this is more than coincidental.

. Anyway, first things first- get the ATF drained and drop the pan to ascertain whether there any obvious signs of mechanical damage within. Take some pics and post- fingers crossed it will be something that can be easily reversed - do not "assume doom" unless and until such proves to be the case.

On the first pictures I was focusing on the tank on the other side of the pan. I saw the pent when I cleaned the pan.

The filter will be there in 10 days. We are covid free, but only three international cargo flights per week, instead of eight commercial flights before. The filter will flight from Paris to Tokyo (B777, Air France) and then to Noumea (A330,
Aircalin).

Waiting for the filter I hope to check pressures. I can also remove the pan 😉

If there is no debris then there would be no need to change the filter so why wait for a new filter to arrive?
