Default What is wrong here?

While checkin' what's for sale out there I came across this.....

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=&cardist=1323

On the surface looks like a fine example of a low mileage 5 speed with sport seats, etc.......

Take a look at the engine shot though......why does this car being a 5 speed have what appears to be a trans cooler on top of the A/C condenser? Even has lines attached. If I recall no 5 speed should have
this........am I wiggin out or what? Also, does the main headlight bar look to be bent forward......or is it just photo distortion?

Strange......

The condenser appears to be below the cooler......it's black while radiator is silver. I see the A/C pressure switch. From all aspects appears to be a auto trans engine compartment.

Yeah, wide-angle lens distortion.

I was under the impression that the light did not reflect off of the fins of the radator very well. At least it doesn't on mine. So from that angle, it looks black, excepting the edges of the radator as it comes together for the tanks.

If you look on the right hand side of the photo, you can see the side of the radator sticking out under the unknown cooler. However, I can not see a gap between the radator and the unknown cooler, and IIRC the top of the unknown cooler is right were the a/c condenser would be, so I'm confused.

May be the oil cooler failed and the transmission cooler has been added and plumbed in it's place.

If I remember correctly though the oil cooler lines are on the drivers side of the radiator and are of a much bigger diameter......just about seen everything, but even this would be reach.......
