Did I list to low ? What are real prices ?
As many on the forum know from my threads, I've put a good amount of time and money into my 2 owner 86.5 S3 Roger Box with 44k. I'm hooked on the 928 but want a 5 speed and am looking to sell. I threw it up on craigslist at $21.5 and have multiple people coming to look and no one is questioning the price. I thought that would be on the high side but did I list too low ? Most major work has been done and everything is fully functional - including the AC which was the last thing needing to be sorted.

Did you sell it yet? Not too low if no one is coming with $21.5k cash and ready to buy on day 1 of showing. COVID and people being bored and some of the reasons for multiple parties looking at multiple cars. People are looking for potential bargains during these desperate times in our predicted financial and political downturns. Throw some pics and info out so we can determine. Sorry, but I haven't followed the work done on your beauty off the top of my head :-).

Bottom line if you have driven a manual 928 and you liked it then by all means go for it but just remember good examples are few and far between and are not exactly bargain basement buys these days.

I think pricing is difficult, and that's why people are drawn to auctions. I personally dislike the auction format, and if I sell my 928 I will just post it with a price. But auctions do seem to get interest and competition going, and return great prices for many cars. Just not my gig. I like your way of selling better.
If you are worried, tell people you are going to let everyone see it and then decide based on offers made, not on the First offer made.
5 speeds might be worth more to collectors, but there might be More buyers for an automatic, just at a slightly lower price? And condition often overcomes options - this list is always telling people to buy the best car they can afford.
Some people say that sellers set prices, some people argue that buyers set prices, there's no perfect answer.
The market is oddball. The Fed just said they're not raising rates, so savings accounts are never growing and physical investments might seem better to people. The 86.5 market is small, and you could be generating interest bc you have the right car in the right place. Or perhaps you are too low, in which case you'll get a bunch of offers you can refuse them, and then try a higher price, or say to people "I have other full price offers, do you want to offer more." If people offer.
Your car looks lovely*.
*I am prejudiced - I have an 86.5 too. It is a 5speed and you would be welcome to drive it if you were local (I am in Colorado).

Nice car, looks well maintained, except for the driver's seat bolster. Price may be high, you've already noted lack of offers, time is a factor in any sale. If you are in a hurry, well, start lowering the price and you will wonder what waiting would have brought, but you will be enjoying the 5-speed, or maybe not, I think they are overrated, but then they command more $$. CL is pretty limited exposure. Why haven't you listed in the Marketplace?

I've had 3 people look in 2 days and 2 are getting back to me with possible offers but not sure I'm willing to entertain anything other than asking. Keep in mind I have $7k in new parts plus new 18" Panamera rims with brand new Michellins, that alone is about $1800.

My first foray into 928s started in 2005 with only automatics and I was never really impressed, they were good cruisers but lacked the driver input and the performance was OK. Fast forward to present time, I now have a S4 manual and it is completely different and really great experience. I can totally understand why @Ramp is interested in a 3 pedal car, the driving characteristics and overall experience is superb.
I think your price at $21.5k is very fair.

I've never driven a 928 with a good originsl 5speed as mine '79 had worn synchros. I hear they don't shift like more modern manual transmissions and require a distinct pause between fear changes. Mine not only required a pause, but also double clutching. Made my upgraded power plant result in a pretty slow car. Took the leap and installed a z06 6speed and it's so much more enjoyable and faster since I can actually change gears like I do in my 997s. I'm a big MT guy though. Started my Cayenne hunt for a 957 GTS just because it had a manual transmission option - ended up with a Turbo S because of the 250 additional HP mine has with mods.
Anyway, I'd drive a proper manual 928 to see if you like the transmission shift feel or factor in $10k to move to the Corvette setup from 928ms.the gear ratios on that are also much improved if you'll be adding HP too. I can cruise at 2k rpm at 85-90 mph now.

Well, not sold but only posted on CL. Two serious buyers, both ultimately declined as they said they really wanted a 5 speed - duh, that's why I'm selling but neither had anything negative to say about the car and didn't question the listed price.
Might as well put it out there and I'll probably list here shortly.

Nice car, to add a lil bling ,
you can get a new set of Hella, 7 inch H4s from Amazon for 87.00 toss out those funky sealed beams.
Its a 10 min to plug and play comes with new bulbs.
You might consider spending 100.00 for a set of door panel inserts maybe made of Pasha to add some contrast.
Include the originals with the sale takes about 1 min to swap per side. Classic 9 Leather shop makes them

I'm in NYC, Staten Island specifically, and have a 86.5 with a 5 speed. I wouldn't own an automatic 928 unless it was for my wife to use. I'm a manual guy, I have 4 manual cars, a rubber band Hybrid for work and an Auto'magic Escalade for dragging the family around. The fifth manual I had, a 6 speed V12 jaguar left me recently (sad face) so I'm down to 4 now. Not bragging just trying to point out my disposition for Manual cars and why I think an auto'magic 928 is useless from a driver experience point of view. Just about any modern high performance car can offers a great modern high performance driving experience with powerful small rev'y engines and 8 speed quick automatics. As a driver involved upgraded 5 speed from a 'better managed time'... the 928 with a manual still shines as novel and involving. I had an S4 Auto for 3 months once, long ago, which was about 83 days too long.
No surprise... I have 86.5 928 5 speed and love it. X pipe, SuperPro bushes, LSD, Koni Shocks, lowered, easy rack, S300 Upgrades, GTS brakes, Panamera wheels with Cup2s. Very different than the way Porsche built it but still true the to designers intent but perhaps even more so in my opinion. It still has a 928 feel and balance but modern tires really up the ante.
If you're undecided or a bit swayed but the automatic owners... let me know if you want to meet up and swap keys for awhile, perhaps the scenic roads and views of Hariman State Park one Sunday morning. I have a track day at limerock in late October and need to shake the 928 down in advance of.
