Greg,
The photo is of the new VEMS TPS, mounted to an adapter, mounted to the side of the throttle body. Because the TPS is keyed it can only be mounted one way which puts the connector towards the rear. Wondering if you have the same TPS?

The cutout is exactly in the reverse position
Yes, by using a other tps sensor....look at the pictures....
This one can be mounted with the connector to the front.

Thanks.
Did you need to make a new adapter, or does it fit in the same mounting holes as the original?

Hello Gents.
Not to hijack, but there are so few of us in the VEMS brotherhood. Just wanted your opinion.

My latest VEMS curiosity is decreased trigger signal flags starting at 5000 rpm, consistently.
US 1986, with the 100-1 flywheel. Do you guys see anything like this? I can look at trigger logging but I have no idea what I’m looking at.
Best, Dave

Yes, do you have trigger errors in your log? around 5000 rpm and up? If so ...replace the crack speed sensor...just buy an aftermarket model..no need for the Bosch (OEM) unit. please share you logging...

Yes, you need to create a different adapter with this TPS sensor....I didn't design one yet because I created a quick and dirty adapter with some metal strips.

Thanks, I have one on order shd be here Wednesday. I'll take a look at it then. If it warrants an adapter I'll work one up.

We should start a new thread, or maybe just use this one, as a place for info, questions, etc...

Update on my VEMS setup:
-add fuel pressure sensor. 100PSI
-add fan control, so that fan will turn on/off when coolant temp is reached and car speed is under 53 mph or 85 km/p.
-add GPS speed sender for having roadspeed signal in de VEMS unit.. GPS Road Speed Sensor | Bridgwater Electronics (bridgwater-electronics.co.uk)

Fuel pressure sensor on fuel rail.

Fuel pressure and road speed in logging

Fan control configuration

Fuel pressure calibration values 0.5v to 4.5v for 100 psi sensor

Speed sensor speed calibration.

Hey guys, several things.
The TPS adapter was problematic for me. The printed material from Peep’s kit(blue) seemed to warp after a few heat cycles. This caused the throttle assembly to hang a little at wot. I fabricated a couple with different materials.

Second, and trivial, I ran a 100 psi oil pressure sensor, actually just to a cockpit gauge and not to VEMS yet. I would get a 150 psi doing it again because it’s pegged (similar to the cluster gauge) until oil is pretty heat soaked ( around 15 min for my car).

Lastly, the trigger flags. It does not seem to affect real world rpm’s but will create artifacts in the log consistently. My pro tuner basically said blow it off but well you know.

I don't know what the blue adapter is made of but I printed mine using Nylon Carbon Fiber 30. If it doesn't hold up I'm screwed as my MAF bypass it printed of the same material:/
If I remember correctly the materials long term working temps range from 200 to 240F.

I just noticed my post didn't go up. Here it is again. I agree with Crumpler. The printed adapter plate is too soft. Mine crushed a bit when done up too tight. Also I replaced my CPS to remove a fuel rev limit type cut above 5000 rpm. No other sign the TPS had an issue. This was advice from Lorenzo and to not use a Bosch type.

Do you happen to have a template for the adapter? Or an stl file?

Thanks

No, unfortunately I don’t. But I can send the original or the aluminum version directly. PM if you want them, happy to help and I wouldn’t need them back. I don’t know variances of TB through production years. Peep made it sound like his was universal fit.
The other issue I had was the thickness of the adapter. It was about 3mm too thick to seat the throttle positioner arm tight to the back of the TPS. But that could just be an S3 thing. I made one thinner that I was happy with.
