If it helps, I can sneak a couple small parts into our CNC Mill at the shop. Just send me the file.

And / Or let me know which TB is preferred and I'll get one to my design team. This is the kind of stuff they do all day long.

Thank you, but I'm going to model an adapter up and print it in nylon carbon fiber, won't take long. If it works I'll share the stl file.

Hey all!

Working on a VEMS pnp kit that’s not so pnp. What’s the current consensus on the tps to use and has any one made up a cnc adapter plate yet? Has anyone made up a knock mount yet? Aluminum MAF tube?

Here is an old discussion on how to tap the factory plug for sensors if anyone is looking:

Thanks!

I have the TPS adapters machined for the 87+ cars. I can see how it fits on the S3 throttle, I happen to have one handy (just need to go through the cold storage bins to find the package of TPS adapters). I could easily have a batch made for the S3.

There also may be a workaround. On the management platform I am using, I can make a user table and assign the output of the table to the TPS% channel. I use a digital input for the source axis of the table, so a value of 1 results in a TPS% of 0. Value of 0 results in a TPS% of 10 (outside the threshold for IDLE). The WOT switch is just disregarded, but its output could easily be used with a second DIN pin and a simple enrichment table applied whenever that input goes low. Everything works fine with the factory switch using MAPT% as the AEC source.

Thanks Hans, I can ABS the tps bracket for now but really like the idea of the aluminum plate there since it can better house the original Oring and is temperature impervious. I mean In could make the aluminum plate easily, but drawing and printing is easier. Same on the aluminum Maf housing. I can turn one by hand but makes more sense to pay for a CNC one if ran in a batch.

And eventually I think regardless of the ECU chosen, these small parts we have been discussing by email would go a long way to cleaning up these stand alone swaps.

Once you have the other kit you are working on done, I'm first in line. I just embarked with VEMs as it was the only option without swapping flywheels (perhaps a poor justification but...).

I have all the bits done for the 87+ Some of it works on the S3, some doesn't and needs to be redone.

Email on the way,

To further the knock sensor discussion, in case others wander here, it appears from the link in my first post, that the block thread is M14 so we non-knock blocks would need something like:
Amazon Amazon

OR

Amazon Amazon

I checked McMaster for likely higher quality product but M14 seems big for this thread adaption. I'll pull a plug late today to confirm. I check my S3 and no valley knock sensors to compare to....

Hi Hans,

Its Greg here from Australia. I just happen to find myself in Jacksonville for the next 6 months for work. Since postage is within America I intend to buy up on some bits from various venders that I can fit into my luggage. If you find any S2 adapters for the 16V cars keep it aside for me. Much appreciated and sorry to spam the VEMS forum.

Thanks

Greg (VEMS installed).
