2021 Rendezvous 928 - Sharks Circling Amelia Island - Now: May 21-23, 2021
May 17th - Latest upate - LOOK AT THE EVENT GUIDE for all the information you need!

Rendezvous 928 - Sharks Circling Amelia Island 2021
Planned Agenda for the 2021 Event
May 20th - Arrivals at Hotel (A Loft Jacksonville Airport - 5 minutes from the airport and 35 minutes from Amelia Island - NEW GROUP RATE (link) Book your hotel room EARLY as block may sell out!)
May 21st - Werks Reunion (EVERYONE should enter the show portion of Werks so the 928s can have their own judging class - registration opens in Mid-December for either Show field OR Parking Corral - BOTH ARE GREAT!)
May 22nd - Amelia Island Cars and Coffee - Best Darn Cars and Coffee EVER! (Applications being accepted for Waitlist - please apply here as we're trying to get all 928s that want to participate in)
May 23rd - Departures, Amelia Island Concours D'elegance (tickets here) or Fun Runs to Jekyll Island (Georgia) or Anastasia Island (St. Augustine)
Latest Info
The Cars & Coffee at the Concours is putting 928s on a waitlist - We have 22 cars already accepted (which is HUGE!). They may be out of room for us in the C&C but @RSMartin and I will try very hard to get more 928s in. To help us do that, please continue to apply (CLICK ME to APPLY)
It is VERY important to notify us you are on the WAITLIST. I am keeping track and if any of the originally accepted cars withdraws and tells me NOT the C&C officials, we will get you off the waitlist in a first come, first served order!
For information on the C&C layout and the parking options, here's a link to the post describing it.
We have 29 928s committed for the weekend (with another 10-12 who are LIKELY to come)! And we have 40+ people committed.
Werks Reunion will likely be our "showcase" event - their registration opens in December. If we continue to get 928s, no other group will show up as strong and proud as we will!
We will fill in the details quickly but here are things you MUST do if you plan to come.
1. Reply on this thread indicating whatever your vote was in the Poll (i.e. I am in with my 928)
2. If you are attending with a 928, please fill out and send in a Cars and Coffee application to Amelia Concours.

Cars & Coffee site - https://ameliaconcours.org/cars-coffee.aspx (Application live NOW here --> CLICK ME to APPLY )
Werks Reunion site - https://www.werksreunion.com/amelia.cfm (Registration opens Mid-December)
This has gone out via FB, too. We actually anticipate a reasonable sized group. Don't wait to decide!
Local Destinations being contemplated for DIY Fun Runs -
1. Jekyll Island (about 71 scenic miles from the hotel)
2. Anastasia Island/St. Augustine (69 scenic miles down A1A and across on a Ferry)
3. Daytona Beach (105 miles - It's Bike week starting March 5th so might be too crazy!)

A note on lodging/hotels -
Please consider making plans to travel from your end of winter destinations and soak up some Florida Sun!
Couldn't say it better than @drooman did a couple years ago...
- All the exceptionally close lodging is SOLD OUT at least 11 months in advance. Generally at a premium of >$300/night. We'll find a great option at a more affordable rate!
- We will do our best to keep significant others in mind with location. However, the demands of Werks and C&C are generally over about 3PM each day. MEANING - wherever is homebase for our group, we can still plan outings around Amelia/Fernandina Beach (or even Jacksonville) - which means your significant other may not mind the mix of cars and afternoon social events at all
- The sooner we get a grasp on #s the easier it is for us. I know we're just springing this on everyone but this has the makings of a great opportunity to bring together a good sized group of Sharks for a notable EVENT.

Bumping this to remind everyone that Amelia Island is THE east coast event of the year...and less than 2 weeks out. Four days of auctions..all the major houses are there; RM, Gooding, Bonhams, Hollywood, etc, a spectacular cars and coffee that takes pretty much all day to see, Werks can kill a number of hours if you're mono-focused on one marque, and the one of the biggest concours events in the country that takes another full day to see. a few pics from the last few years..

Filled out the C&C application and registered two 928s and a 924s for the C&C. If you DO have multiple cars for C&C, make sure you apply using a different owner per car as they will only select one car per owner.

Damn.... I have a work conference on 5 Mar, so I voted as a "might attend". If I can get it changed or have someone do it in my stead, I'm in with the GT.
I just submitted the C&C application just in case and will try to register for the judged field on Werks day when that opens.
I've never been to a Werks Reunion, but I was at Amelia in 2016 when they auctioned off a bunch of Jerry Seinfeld's cars. It's quite an event.
Thanks for working this.

I know it's a long ways away but the C&C is so exclusive you've got to apply early. It's a fantastic series of events from Werks to C&C to the Concours. And if you're not into the Concours on Sunday, there is always a run down the ocean front to St. Augustine or even Daytona!

This is great. I'm not to far away from there. I was gonna go last year with the 84, but somethings got in the way. I hope to attend this year with my 928. Great as I have always been wanting to see some 928 meetup events more down here in Florida. Back in the day in Florida I used to see a good amount of 928's, but now its super rare to see one today in Florida. Thank you RSMartin and jej3 for doing this. Will definitely try to make it to this one..
