Considered, and booked! Thanks for the tip, Trey! We missed Badlands and aren't going to miss this, but couldn't you make it a little farther away from us? I hate these short drives...
And a PSA: We sent in our cars-and-coffee registration Wednesday AM, and hadn't heard back. C'mon folks, it's been a Whole Day!
This afternoon I checked our spam folder, and who wudda guessed, there was the confirmation!
... Sent 15 minutes after they received our application.

Excellent sleuthing, Trey. Thanks!
AAA rate is $140 with parking and the day prior cnx policy..... top notch! Most Aloft hotels are pretty cool.... nice modern decor. We had a similar situation for the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix back in 2011. We found a brand new Home 2 Suites (not even opened yet when we made the reservation) only a 10 minute walk from race central at the inner harbor... $150/night. I think they eventually figured it out and the rate went up to $350.
I received my acceptance from C&C within a day or so.
With Luftgekühlt cnxed along with alot of other stuff, hope this one happens and we get a good crowd.
Jim... we certainly missed you and Sue at Rapid City... hope to see you at this one!

Beautiful Car!
I'm hoping my engine gets reunited with my 1990 so I can bring both of my 928s
By my accounting (we'll have a more official event registration soon), we have 15+ people committed to come (plus possibly significant others) and at least 12 928s. If all filled out their C&C applications, that means we're already going to have a 500% increase over the number of 928s I've ever seen at C&C.
The event is a ways off but the alignment of a good hotel, at a great rate, along with interest from many areas of the country means this event might become a "can't miss" in its first iteration. I don't promise this event will happen again but I do promise we'll have a heckuva good time THIS TIME!
Thank you, @Eloutfi and all of you who have already booked rooms (link) and sent in C&C applications (link). Your enthusiasm is contagious!

I booked a room, but not sure if I am going to drive yet or not.... If I drive, I will probably just spectate. You guys know I much prefer to drive and wrench than wash a car... nothing I would bring would be representative on the green.
See you guys in March.

Awesome, Hans! I've deployed the marketing team (Mrs. JEJ3 - her name is Leigh) to check out the hotel and the surrounding area. She called me excited and I have dozens of pictures I'll post her findings a bit later.

FWIW - The Cars & Coffee and Werks show field are both populated with ALL levels of finished vehicles. There was a 944 racecar that barely ran, had maybe had the bugs cleaned off the windshield and looked like they should have had Maaco paint the car in the last C&C I did there. They were from Floridiots Racing, I think.
Here's a FB picture of the car (it has improved since they had it there last!)

I suppose it is Facebook Official courtesy of @RSMartin ....
Sharks Circling Amelia Island is the Rendezvous 928 2021 Event!
Definitely an honor to be the 2021 location for the Rendezvous Event. @RSMartin did a great job with the first one and @Harvey928 had an epic gathering at Sharks in the Badlands! We'll try to achieve the same standard as those two events. The more of you who turn out, the better!

- Submitting applications to participate in the Cars & Coffee
- Booking a room at the A Loft Hotel

Yes. I'm so glad its a Rendezvous 928. I was waiting for something like this to happen and its like a wish come true. I sincerely appreciate it jej3 and RSMartin. I think Florida is a great place to hold 928 events more often as its a really nice state.

Just a quick update....
Hotel price has stayed steady for now - if you want to reserve (even if you are unsure), I'd encourage you to do so at this link.
This is my current roster of who is committed, who is a strong maybe and who is a maybe at this point. If you're not on this list, or your info isn't quite right, please let me know.
We will have our OWN official registration for the event, especially since it is the 2021 Rendezvous 928 Event. For now the emphasis is making sure people get hotel rooms booked and those interested in having their car in the AWESOME cars & coffee get a chance to do so by filling out this application.
According to the above, we have 16 928s committed for the weekend. I believe as many as 13 of the committed 928s are being submitted for the Cars & Coffee (there is a fee to be an exhibited car but it is free to attend the event).
This event is in REALLY good shape less than a week after being announced. Being a First Year for Sharks Circling Amelia Island AND a Rendezvous 928 event, I certainly hope MANY of you can come!
Please book your hotel room (even if you're tentative) and either post here your status or drop me a PM.
Thanks!

I've booked a room. Not sure whether or not I'll drive the 928 or haul it on our carrier. That partly depends on whether or not the hotel has a spot to park the truck.
I also submitted a Cars and Coffee application.
Plans may change depending on how things go with the pandemic, but my prayer is that it will have subsided by then so that we can attend the event.
