Default Center caps

I purchased some center caps for my 1987 928 S4 and they don't fit well in the front wheels. The wheels are cup wheels and the PN for the center cups is 933 361 303 00 61M Has anyone else gone this way and found an alternative for the front wheels? The opening for the front wheels measures real close to 76.2 mm (3 inches).

if the caps will sit flush,
then put a thin bead of clear RTV around the wheel then fit the cap and tape it with blue tape till it cures in 24 hours

Sorry about the lack of info Stan. The opening is about 1 mm smaller than the center cap I am trying to get into it. The rears fit flush. The picture shows the cap as far as it will go in.

what Merlin says.
Also..you may have to trim off a few (or all of the plastic tabs.) My guess is the bearing cap is not allowing the center cap to seat properly, too tight a fit and not allowing the tabs to slip by in the opening. .. OR ...the bearing cap sits too proud and isn’t fully seated In the hub not allowing the center cap to fully mount flush

many others have ran this combination I’m sure..

This is the one that came out of that wheel. Looks as if they heated it up and pushed it in making that surface concave instead of convex. Doing that must have shrunk the outside diameter.

There are a couple of styles of center caps...one of which is a concave shape. I have those on my car as they match my rims. I shortened the depth of my bearing caps by a few mm. Just enough so the insides of the bearing cap doesn’t rub on the spindle behind it...this allowed my center caps to fit properly

I have not seen where a Porsche center cap wont fit the wheel ,
your cap looks like it will fit but the back side is hitting the dust cap,
since its plastic cut off the back sides till it fits in then use the silicone to glue it in.

Thank you very much Stan. I will definitely try that. Tony also said the same thing and he shaved the bearing cap a little. Thank you guys for sharing your knowledge.

I have had to remove the front wheels, mount the center caps and then put the wheels back on.

That also sounds like an option to try. I will try that first. Thank you Otto

Ditto on this. Try and put the caps on first, then mount the wheels. That bearing cap can be getting in the way--it is a tight fit.

Well, took the wheel off from the front and tried to put the center cap in. There must be a problem cause it just wont go in. Maybe my wheels are aftermarket. I see that they were made in Italy. I have attached a couple of photos of the inside of the wheel.

So will the cap fit flush into the wheel?
If so cut off the back and glue in.
If its the outer circumference of the cap,
then figure out a way to turn down the OD of the cap
