Default Used radiator to loan?

My re-tanked Behr radiator has gone TU after 9 years. I have a new unit from 928 intl ordered but they are on backorder until some time in November. Anyone have a spare unit for an S4 auto I could borrow for a couple of months?

Thanks in advance.

Thats novel...kind'a like borrowing socks. I'd suggest you buy a used one, then sell it when you no longer need it. In essence you'd be borrowing it from yourself.

If it's one of the side tanks you need I have a new one and a seal.

I installed new tanks on this core about 9 years ago. I don't think the flange will respond well to a second "stretching" hence the new CFS unit from 928 Intl.

Thanks for the offer though.

Will one out of a 90GT work? I have one that's been sitting for several years after I upgraded to a CFS with the Greg Brown dual cooler setup. You're welcome to borrow it if it will work.

The 90 GT radiator lacks the transmission oil cooler that the OP's S4 Automatic car requires. ;(

Thanks for the offer Jarrod but as the good Doctor pointed out I need one with the trans cooler.

Thanks also to Barry for the offer. However, I'm afraid the shipping from Belgium to Arkansas would almost cover the cost of a new Porsche unit ($2,300US last time I checked.)

The search continues.

Being your basic 928 parts horder, I've got stacks of the things. Finding one that doesn't leak would be a challenge...

That is always the hard part. If you do manage to find one that doesn't leak at 16psi let me know.

Mike, if John's doesn't work out, I can pull the one out of my 85. It's only a couple years old (one of the last factory new Behr units Roger was able to get).

what if I told you that a 90s Volvo 850 radiator is almost the same size as a 928's, and has integrated tranny AND engine oil coolers in the tanks?

...maybe worth some experimenting.
