Default 1985 928S 5 speed for sale in Dallas, TX. $3800

Deposit received. Sold pending pick up.

1985 "S3" 5 Speed(w/LSD) Black on black.
WP0JB0923FS862208
Clear OK title, one key.. Clean Carfax
Starts/runs and drives, does not over heat or smoke. 171k miles

Bought as a project; hopefully someone with better time and resources will finish it. The car is stored indoors, and is a bit dusty as you can see. Rust free, spent most of its life in the south.
The interior is out of the car, I'm guessing it was in the middle of an interior restoration when the work stopped. Most of the interior is present. The rear seat bottoms are missing.
Would need some maintenance soon, as I do not have records of TB/WP service(TB warning light functions). Charging system tested and working.
Option list below, some of the optional items are no longer on the car, sadly( the M018 steering wheel and the I158 stereo).

Options:
C02 - 49 state US model
M28.43 - engine serial # range 81 F 00001 >05000
G28.11 - transmission serial # range 11F 05001>10000

M018- Sport steering wheel with elevated hub 30mm
I158 - Blaupunkt Monterey SQR23 (2 channel)
M220 - LSD
M319 - Changed set-up of fan (additional engine cooling for hot climate countries)
M418 - Protective side moldings
M481 - 5-speed
M490 - Hi-Fi sound system ( 8 speakers, balance control, 1983-86.5)
M494 - Additional Amp (4x15W, 1981+), Blaupunkt BQA-80
M533 - Alarm
M650 - Sunroof

Couple of short videos. The lifters are ticking, car sat for a while.

Kidding, I'm not in the market for yet another black car. No matter the price. Hey, are you seeing any of the 2020 C8 cars around there? I'm thinking of ordering one in Dec. Wonder if you've seen any?

Doc,

Only 1 that I've seen on the road so far. It's a wild looking machine! It will have to have time to grow on me. Not big on Corvettes, but the C6 may be my favorite so far.

Kewl. Lemme know if you want that 85 delivered. I think you meant C8, not 6.

There was a time I'd already be on my way with a trailer. Sigh.

I am extremely tempted, but I really don't have the time for anything remotely a project. Maybe next year I could think about something like this.

My wife told me to buy it but I've got too many sitting around already. Looks like a good project.

Negotiated price was commensurate to this car being a big project, so I pulled the trigger after Sterling was able to opine on the transaxle behavior for me. Thanks again, Sterling!

Good save! 85 5sp usually has code 220. Put some big brakes on front, some lowered good shocks, maybe X pipe and RMB and you have a real goer(and stopper).

This car decodes to being LSD-equipped. It will get brake/suspension upgrades and much much more. I have a lot of 'stuff' I have collected to join to a car with exactly this one's features.

Naturally, it will get a complete respray and revised, restored interior.

"Naturally, it will get a complete respray and revised, restored interior"-

Show off 😀..

wish I had the skill to do your work. Such a specialty that I'll never have the skill/patience for. Watching the guy who painted my previous 928 was like watching a real artist. Something I'll never be able to do. Good luck with the new project. I'll be selling one very soon
